Chapter 474:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
As soon as Sara left, the room fell into silence.
Yayoi leaned against the headboard and drank the water.
Maddox stared at her for a long moment before quietly asking, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Tell you what?” Yayoi gave him a confused look.
“Tell me you were in a bad mood.”
Yayoi curved her lips and said, “You’re busy with family matters, aren’t you? I don’t want to worry you anymore.”
“But now you’re worrying me.” Maddox smiled helplessly. “Yayoi, we’re lovers. I don’t want you to be so sensible. I’ll feel I’m useless to be your boyfriend.”
“No, Maddox.” Yayoi smiled bitterly, “You have to worry about your grandfather and you don’t have time to worry about me. So I can only take care of myself.”
“Are you complaining about me?” asked Maddox tentatively.

Yayoi raised her eyebrows, “If I say yes, what will you do?”
“What will I do?” Maddox pretended to think seriously. A soft smile appeared on his handsome face, and he looked at her sweetly.
He said softly, “I will be very happy, because I will have the feeling that you treat me as your boyfriend.”
Yayoi let out a giggle, looking at him affectionately.
Maddox gently stroked her head with a faint smile at the corner of his lips. “Yayoi, I have good news for you.”
“What’s it about, your grandfather has allowed us to be together?”. Yayoi thought that was the only good news for her, and that other things were not good news.
Maddox laughed and pinched her nose affectionately. “He’ll allow it soon enough.”
“Really?” Yayoi’s eyes widened in disbelief. “You wouldn’t have sweet-talked me just to make me happy, would you?”
“No” Maddox smiled and shook his head. “Actually, Wendy volunteered to dissolve the engagement.”
“Wendy?” Yayoi was more surprised.
She reached out to touch Maddox’s forehead and frowned.
Maddox pulled his hand away helplessly and said. “I’m telling the truth. Wendy said that in front of my grandfather and me.”
“That’s impossible!” blurted Yayoi. He sneered, “Unless the sun rises in the west, she surely won’t take the initiative to call off the engagement.”
“So you don’t believe her?”
Yayoi pursed her lips. “No, I don’t believe her. And she can’t be trusted. Wendy used money to throw me out a few days ago and even threatened me. She wouldn’t be so nice all of a sudden. There’s definitely something not right.”
Precisely because she had come into contact with Wendy, she knew that Wendy was not as kind and innocent as she appeared.
More simply put, Wendy was scheming something.
Maddox had to take Wendy’s words seriously, because both Sara and Yayoi were suspicious of Wendy.
He wondered if there was something fishy about what Yayoi was saying.
However, he remembered that when Wendy proposed dissolving the engagement, there was nothing suspicious, and he didn’t feel that anything was wrong.
Maddox was thoughtful.
Yayoi yelled, “Maddox!”
Maddox came to at the sound of the voice.
“What’s on your mind?” asked Yayoi.
He smiled and said, “I was thinking about what you said.”
He took her hand and smiled softly.
“Yayoi, regardless of whether Wendy has a purpose or not, since she proposed to dissolve the engagement, I have a chance to make it happen.”
Yayoi just looked at him and said nothing.
He continued, “Yayoi, let’s get married.”
Yayoi’s eyes widened and filled with disbelief.
She asked, “What…what are you talking about?”
Had she heard wrong?
Maddox grabbed her hand and kissed it.
He looked at her affectionately and repeated word for word, “Let’s get married.”
She didn’t mishear.
She pressed her lips tightly together and looked into his tender black eyes. She thrilled, feeling warmth in her heart.
Her eyes grew moist. After a long moment, she nodded softly.
“Okay.”
Maddox smiled and pulled her into his arms tightly, as if he wanted to embed her in his body.
Yayoi leaned quietly against his chest and listened to the quiet beating of his heart. She felt the air was sweet and sketched a sweet, happy smile.
It was true that alcohol caused problems.
When Juliet opened her eyes and saw the unfamiliar surroundings, she was so startled that she sat up with a start.
A thought flashed through her mind.
‘Had she had a one-night stand?’
Suddenly she felt a shiver in her chest.
She looked down, rigid. Startled, she quickly grabbed the blanket and covered her bare chest, screaming loudly.
“What’s wrong?”
The door was forced open and a man rushed in, panicked.
Juliet turned around and saw Payton’s handsome face.
Her eyes instantly turned red.
“Payton…”
Seeing that she was crying, Payton rushed over and anxiously asked, “What happened?”
“I… Me!” Juliet sobbed and her voice faltered.
Payton frowned and asked again, “What exactly happened?”
Juliet wiped away her tears and sobbed, “I had a one-night stand.”
“A one-night stand?”
At first, Payton didn’t understand what she meant. When she reacted, she couldn’t help but let out a laugh.
Juliet, who was immersed in her own grief, stopped crying immediately.
She asked discontentedly, “What are you laughing at, is that so funny?”
Payton laughed uncontrollably and pointed at her, “You…think you had a one-night stand with someone else?”
Juliet frowned.
“No?”
Seeing her confused expression, Payton laughed even more uncontrollably. Her laughter filled the entire room.
Juliet huffed, “Payton, what do you mean, you’re still my boyfriend? Is it so funny that I’m having a one-night stand with someone else?”
Payton quickly contained her laughter, but the corners of her lips kept twisting. She looked at Juliet, who was annoyed, and cleared her throat softly.
She put on a serious expression and said, “If you were really having a one-night stand with someone else, I would kill that man.”
Did she mean…she hadn’t had a one-night stand with anyone else?
But why was she naked?
Thinking about it, she looked down and lifted the blanket. He saw that she was naked and frowned.
Seeing her actions, Payton smiled and said, “You were drunk last night and threw up all over your body. I don’t have any women’s clothes here, so…. Well, you know.”
Did she know?
He didn’t know anything.
“Payton!”
Thinking of her embarrassing move a moment ago, Juliet angrily grabbed the pillow and threw it at Payton.
Payton caught it and said with a smile, “Your clothes are dry. I’ve put them in the bathroom. Get changed and come out.”
Before Juliet could react, she turned and walked out of the room.
