Chapter 493:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Sara…”
Hearing this, Sara turned around and saw Juliet whispering in her ear, “I think he’s lying. He must be trying to do something.”
Sara raised her eyebrows and looked at Juliet in agreement. She pursed her lips and looked at Yayoi thoughtfully.
Then, her gaze fell on Wendy’s ordinary face and she smiled, “Miss Xu, are you finished?”.
Wendy was surprised. “Yes.”
Sara smiled politely, “Since we have some personal matters to discuss, would you excuse us for a moment?”
She meant to ask her to leave.
Wendy smiled and said, “Okay, I’ll see you. We’ll talk later if there’s a chance.”

After saying that, she nodded slightly to them, then turned around, and the smile on her face instantly faded, changing to a somber expression.
Seeing Wendy walk out of the cafeteria, Sara turned to look at Yayoi, “Yayoi, do you believe what she said?”.
Yayoi shook her head softly, “I don’t believe it.”
“I don’t believe it either,” echoed Juliet.
Sara frowned and thought for a moment, then said, “Do you think she performed a somersault to catch Maddox?”
“Yes, I think so.” Juliet rolled her eyes angrily. “Actually, as soon as I heard her say she wanted to call off the engagement, I had that thought.”
She paused before continuing, “Since she spent money on separating Yayoi and Maddox, she must want to marry Maddox. How can she change in such a short time?”
“Juliet is right.” Yayoi nodded. “When Maddox told me, I was very surprised, but I didn’t believe Wendy.”
Sara curved her lips and said, “Okay, actually, when Maddox told me, I was suspicious too. After all…Maddox’s grandfather was not someone who could be easily persuaded.”
If he was easy to persuade, Leo would have figured it out.
“I think…” Juliet hesitated a moment. “Maddox was with her just now – was it because she said she wanted to call off the engagement?”
Sara looked at Yayoi and said, “It’s up to Yayoi to ask Maddox herself.”
Yayoi lowered her head and kept silent.
Sara and Juliet looked at each other and did not talk about Maddox again.
Instead, they changed the subject and started talking about other things.
After a few days of depression, Sara finally regained her vitality and went back to work with her two good friends and Leo.
That day, as soon as she entered the office, Raye ran up to her and shouted, “Sara, something big has happened!”.
Seeing Raye’s anxious expression, Sara smiled, “What’s happened that scares you so much?”
“Hazel is missing.”
She wanted to pass Raye to her seat, but Raye’s words made her stop suddenly. She turned around and thought she’d misheard, “Raye, what did you just say?”
Raye swallowed hard, “I said Hazel is missing.”
Sara’s expression immediately turned serious. “How did she disappear?”
“I don’t know.” Raye shook her head. “During these past few days when she hasn’t been coming to work, she’s caused a stir throughout the entertainment industry. Rumor has it that after finishing Hazel’s performance at Empresses at the Palace, she drove back to Benin alone, and then disappeared.”
“How can that be?”
Sara frowned. She thought about it for a moment and sat down quickly. She dropped the bag on the desk, turned on the computer, opened the website and typed ‘Hazel’ into the search box.
A bunch of searches popped up at once, and the news of Hazel’s disappearance was at the top.
He clicked on the news item and read carefully. All he knew was that Hazel had disappeared on her way back to Benin.
The police were still investigating, but there were no results.
“Sara, do you think she disappeared for no reason?” asked Raye, who was standing behind her.
Sara shook her head gently, then leaned back in her chair and bit her finger with a thoughtful expression.
Sara already had an answer for Hazel’s disappearance.
“Sara…” Seeing that she remained silent for a long moment, Raye called out to her.
Sara came to and turned to look at him. She smiled and said, “What’s wrong?”
Raye looked around, then leaned into her ear and whispered, “Sara, do you think someone has kidnapped Hazel?”
Sara blinked, “Why would you say that?”.
Raye thought for a moment, “If it wasn’t for someone kidnapping her, how could she have disappeared out of nowhere?”
“Maybe there’s something strange going on.” Sara joked.
“Something supernatural?” Raye raised her eyebrows in disbelief. “How could something like that have happened? Someone must have kidnapped Hazel.”
Sara smiled and pushed him back into his seat to get to work.
The surroundings calmed down. He knitted his brows and thought about Hazel’s disappearance.
Just then, his phone rang, interrupting his thoughts.
When she saw the phone, she raised her eyebrows in surprise.
It was David.
He was supposed to call her about Hazel.
“Sara, where did you hide Hazel?”
David’s angry voice rang out.
Sara gasped.
She looked around, afraid to disturb her colleague. She got up and walked into the break room.
“David, are you crazy?” scolded Sara bluntly.
“Sara, I don’t have time to argue with you. Let Hazel go. Otherwise, I’m definitely going to deal with you.”
To Sara, David’s threat sounded very ridiculous.
She scoffed, “David, who told you that Hazel is with me?”.
David clammed up.
Then, Sara boldly guessed, “Did Rorey tell you?”.
There was still silence on the other end of the phone.
“David, who do you think hates Hazel more, Rorey or me? You’re a smart person, so think again.”
Sara finished speaking and waited unhurriedly.
She leaned against the window with her phone in her hand, her gaze settled on the slightly dark sky outside the window.
“Is Hazel really not with you?”
David’s voice rang out after a long moment.
“Of course she isn’t. I wish I could get rid of you, how could I go back to finding trouble and getting involved with you?”
Although he said David was a smart person, his call was enough to show that he believed what Rorey said and wasn’t smart enough.
However, people who were panicking couldn’t help but lose their rationality.
