Chapter 500:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
He watched silently as Maddox answered the phone.
Maddox didn’t say anything.
Yayoi didn’t know what Matt had said. But Maddox’s expression turned serious. She felt a little nervous and uneasy.
Maddox hung up, hesitated for a moment, then turned to Yayoi and said, “Grandpa is hospitalized.”
Yayoi was taken aback, “How did this happen?”
“It’s said that he found out I was getting married. He got so angry that he fainted.”
“How could that be?”
Yayoi panicked.
If it was really because of their marriage that the old man was fainting, she would never feel calm forever as soon as something happened to him.

Maddox was also disturbed.
He was determined to marry Yayoi. So he didn’t think about his family’s feelings. But now, Matt angrily scolded him over the phone and told him that his grandfather was in bad shape.
Was it a punishment from the heavens for her insistence?
“I’ll go with you to the hospital.”
Seeing that he felt guilty, Yayoi gently grabbed his hand and said in a soft voice.
Maddox looked at her and forced a smile, “Yayoi, I’m sorry. I had intended to take you to celebrate our registration. But now…”
Yayoi shook her head.
“It’s okay. Grandfather is more important. We have many occasions to celebrate.”
Maddox stroked her cheek and said, “Thank you.”
Yayoi smiled softly.
But when Maddox turned to start the car, her smile faded. She turned to look thoughtfully out the window.
She didn’t know if anything else would happen on this trip to the hospital.
But sooner or later she would have to face it.
Old Master Shen was so angry that he had been hospitalized. Not only Matt and his wife were in the hospital, but also Leo and Payton.
When Maddox saw them, he was surprised.
“Leo, you guys are here too.”
Leo nodded and looked at Yayoi, who was standing next to him.
It was uncomfortable to tell from her face what she was thinking.
“Brat!” Matt lunged at Maddox and punched him.
“Matt!” cried Edith in surprise.
It was too late to stop him now.
Maddox didn’t dodge and took the punch.
Yayoi covered her mouth with her hand to keep from screaming.
She looked pitifully at Maddox, who cocked his head to one side.
When Matt raised his hand and was about to throw another punch at Maddox, Leo repelled it and gave him a stern look, “Matt, that’s enough.”
Leo was the biggest among his peers.
Because of that, they were all somewhat afraid of him.
After saying that, Matt withdrew his hand.
But he still pointed at Maddox and scolded him, “Brat, if it wasn’t for Leo’s words, I would have beaten you up today.”
“Maddox, how are you?”
Yayoi took a step forward and saw his puffy cheeks.
She was so distressed that the rims of her eyes were red.
Maddox smiled, trying to placate her, and whispered, “I’m fine. Don’t worry.”
How could she be fine with her face swollen like that?
Yayoi reached up and stroked his wounds.
Maddox gasped in pain and his expression changed, which startled Yayoi.
She quickly withdrew her hand and tears streamed down his cheeks.
Maddox quickly consoled, “Yayoi, I’m fine. Don’t cry.”
However, Yayoi could not hold back the tears at all.
She didn’t know whether she was crying because Maddox had been beaten or because her relationship was not supported by her family .
