Chapter 438:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Layton Village.
Levi arrived in a hurry with the doctor in the middle of the night and headed straight for the bedroom on the second floor.
At that moment, Ruby was huddled under the comforter, talking to Evans nonchalantly, her expression was as usual, but Evans’ face was getting paler and paler.
When she saw the doctor arrive, Evans immediately stood up and looked at Levi with a hesitant expression.
Levi asked, “What’s wrong?”
Evans opened his mouth, then swallowed the words that had come into his mouth and said, “It’s nothing, let the doctor take a look first.”
She lowered her tone and wobbled in her seat to allow the doctor to approach.
Soon, the doctor examined Ruby, but found nothing.
“This young lady has some minor bruises, but none have hurt her muscles, so she’ll be fine after two days of being fed medicine.”

That was all he said, and when Levi heard it, his eyebrows immediately furrowed, “That’s all?”
The doctor mumbled incredulously, “Yes, is there anything else?”.
Levi’s face grew whiter and whiter as he moved to Ruby’s side and lowered his eyes to look deeply at her before looking back at the doctor.
“Are you sure she doesn’t have a head injury? Right now she seems to be in discomfort in her head, and she’s also experiencing memory loss.”
Hearing this, the doctor froze and shook his head.
“No, I just took a closer look and this young lady has no head injuries or bumps on her head, as for your comment about memory loss, what is going on?”.
Levi and Layton exchanged a look before he spoke, “It’s something that happened earlier today, but she just said she doesn’t remember.”
At that, the doctor rubbed his chin thoughtfully and replied.
“It’s possible that this young woman suffered a concussion, so she had temporary memory confusion, or even memory loss. Let her rest for a while, we’ll see what happens in two days. If she is still like this, go to the hospital and have a full examination. Maybe an MRI of the brain if necessary, then we’ll see what plaques are affected to see what we can do.”
As the doctor had said, that was all that could be done.
Levi sent someone to have the doctor come out and looked at the woman who was looking at him with big round eyes on the bed with a frown on her face.
He walked over to the bed and sat down, putting Ruby’s hand in his palm, kneading it; his heart full of worry.
“Are you hungry now, shall I tell someone to fix you something to eat?”.
Since the doctor had told her to get some rest, he wasn’t going to go on with the day’s events tonight, just to be affectionately concerned for her.
Ruby seemed to think about it and then nodded, “Well, I’m very hungry.”
“I’ll have someone fix you something light, it’s late and you shouldn’t eat too much. Get an early rest, tomorrow I’ll have someone fix you something you’ll like.”
Ruby nodded, “Okay.”
She didn’t look any different from her usual appearance, but for some reason, Levi noticed her looking strange.
Afterwards, he walked Ruby to finish her meal.
He watched her sleep before lightening his pace and leaving.
When he came downstairs, Evans was sitting in the living room and seemed to be waiting for him intentionally.
“Well, is Ruby asleep?”
Seeing Levi come downstairs, she asked immediately.
Levi nodded and came over to sit across from him, his brows furrowed throughout the night.
Seeing this, Evans hesitated and still said what he wanted to say earlier.
“Do you feel out of place too?”.
When he asked this question, Levi froze and then looked at him sternly, “Do you feel anything?”.
Evans nodded, “There is a problem with your memory.”
At these words, Levi’s pupils suddenly contracted, he pressed his lips tightly together and said nothing.
Evans sighed and spoke of what he had just discovered.
“When you went to call the doctor, I stayed with Ruby, I found out that some of her memories are still stuck in the past, before she came to the capital, she doesn’t remember most things after coming to the capital. Her personality has become a little strange, she used to be cold and calm, but now she seems more impatient. She gets angry easily. She has just lost her temper. This she would not have done with her previous character.”
