Chapter 439:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Also, her memory problem is not only forgetting some things, but even some misunderstandings, some of the things I asked her, she has already mixed up her memory, some things that were obviously in her teenage years. In her current memory, they become things that happened when she was in her twenties. I didn’t realize it at first, but after we talked, I noticed there was something wrong with her words.”
At these comments, Levi’s face had sunk.
He had thought Ruby seemed a little weird, but he hadn’t expected it to be true.
At that moment, he got up to go upstairs, but Layton tugged at him.
“What are you going to do?” Layton looked at him with a worried expression.
Levi pursed his lips and said in a cold voice, “Take her to the hospital.”
Layton sighed and got up to stop him.
“I know you’re anxious, I’m Ruby’s friend and I’m worried about her now that something is wrong. I think we should heed the doctor, let’s observe for the moment, wait and see what happens tomorrow during the day. After all, Ruby has been in a state of shock this time. Maybe after a night’s rest she will get better, if by then things still don’t improve, it’s not too late to send her to the hospital. She’s tired now, so let’s let her get a good night’s sleep.”
Levi was silent for a moment, before committing himself, his face still heavy as always.

The next day, however, things didn’t get any better.
When Ruby woke up, she sat up in bed hugging the blanket and didn’t move.
She even frowned when Levi came in, looking disgusted, “Why did you come in without knocking?”
It was the first time Levi had seen her like this, so he froze and stopped in his tracks, unsure if he should continue to approach.
Seeing this, Ruby made an even more unpleasant face and her tone became increasingly impolite.
“Who are you, how can you come in, just like that, what do you want?”
When she finished, she cautiously backed away, her back leaning against the headboard of the bed.
At the sight of this scene, Levi’s face froze abruptly, as he asked in a muffled voice, “Ruby, don’t you recognize me?”
Ruby looked at him with suspicious eyes: “Am I supposed to know you? Who exactly are you?”.
This time, Levi’s face shadowed terribly, looking at her with eyes full of complexity and concern.
He was silent for a moment before opening his mouth in a warm voice:
“Ruby, it’s Levi, I’m your husband, you really don’t remember me?”.
“Levi? My husband?” Ruby wrinkled her brow in obvious distrust, “Really? You’re lying to me, I’m not married.”
At that moment, Layton walked in with Olivia, still oblivious to the situation, and smiled to see that she was awake.
“Ruby, how did you sleep last night, are you feeling better?”
As soon as Olivia saw her, she was filled with joy and gasped.
“Mom! You’re awake at last, I was so worried yesterday, I waited ages for you to wake up, I was so nervous I didn’t sleep all night, are you feeling better now?”
Looking into Olivia’s big, soulful eyes, Ruby seemed to think for a moment before nodding to take her in her arms.
“Well, I am better, but Olivia, why am I here?”.
Hearing her ask, Olivia froze and looked at her in confusion, “Mom, what’s the matter, don’t you remember what happened yesterday?”
“Yesterday? What happened yesterday? Where is this place?”
Ruby’s face was inextricably perplexed as her eyes drifted between her and Layton, then she asked, “What the hell is going on?”
Hearing this, the entire room fell silent and an eerie atmosphere filled every corner of the air.
Layton stood in shock, his gaze fixed on Ruby, “Don’t you remember anything? Have you forgotten everything from yesterday?”
Ruby reached up and touched her forehead, “I… I don’t remember, how did I get here?”
Apparently, she didn’t even remember what happened yesterday when she woke up.
Seeing him, Layton and Levi couldn’t help but turn pale.
Levi gritted his teeth and spoke in a muffled voice: “Get the car ready, I’ll take her to the hospital!”.
Knowing that the matter could not be delayed, Layton did not hold back and hurriedly ordered the men to get ready.
Half an hour later, the group arrived at the hospital and immediately a doctor gave Ruby a complete body check.
Outside the examination room, Layton and Levi looked serious, and even Olivia, with her tender face covered by a dense haze.
She walked over to Levi, tugged and shook his hand, tilting her head to look at him.
“Dad, how come Mom doesn’t recognize you anymore? She seems to have forgotten a lot of things, will she ever forget me too?”.
By the end of her speech, she was so worried that her eyes were red-rimmed and watery, but she stubbornly kept her tears from welling up.
Seeing this, Levi’s heart received a heavy blow, and he squeezed her hand gently, soothing her gently.
“No, mom just has some temporary problems, when the doctor cures her, she will surely remember that you are her dearest daughter. She won’t forget you.”
While father and daughter were talking, the doctor came out.
“May I ask who the patient’s husband is?”. He asked as he looked between the two men.
Hearing this, Levi froze and hurried to step forward, “I am, how is she?”.
The doctor pointed in the direction of the door and said, “Come in with me first, the patient wants to see you, let’s talk inside.”
Ruby wanted to see him?
At that point, Levi couldn’t worry about anything else and left Olivia in Layton’s care for the time being and immediately went inside.
In the doctor’s office, Ruby was sitting in a chair somewhat uneasily at the moment, her eyebrows kept furrowing.
As soon as she saw him enter, she made a face as if she had seen a savior and got up in a hurry, walking towards him, pulling his sleeve and not letting go. “Why did you bring me to the hospital for a checkup? I always feel uncomfortable when I’m here. Levi, can we go back?”
He had never looked like this before, and Levi was suddenly surprised.
What surprised him even more was her familiar way of calling him ‘Levi’. His eyes immediately lit up and he stared at her, asking expectantly, “Remember me?”
Delicately, Ruby looked at him with a puzzled expression, “What do you mean, when did I forget you?”.
At these words, Levi froze, his face stiffening, focusing his eyes on the doctor.
His thin lips pursed straight.
“Doctor, what’s wrong with you, any results yet?”.
