Chapter 442:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Layton and he had been friends for many years, he had never suspected him, so at that moment he didn’t get defensive and told him the whole story.
Benjamin listened without moving, acting as if he had just found out, his face full of astonishment.
“Raphael’s father is so outrageous, he does that to his own son, he doesn’t care about him and now he’s imprisoning him, what kind of normal father would do that? I can’t always communicate with Raphael, it seems his father has cut off all possibilities to put him in contact with the outside world.”
“Yes.” Layton’s face wasn’t very good, “I also didn’t expect Raphael’s father to be so cruel, using his own son’s name to blackmail others, as if he had no relationship with Raphael, even if he raised a dog, after raising him for so long, he should have feelings for him. Now it seems that the Williamson Family is a den of tigers. Raphael has no place there. I hope he can get out of the Williamson Family or take the initiative to do something, otherwise, as long as his father is stepping on his head, he won’t be able to get ahead.”
Benjamin nodded, then diverted the conversation to Ruby.
“But the relic in Ruby’s hand is really attractive, how come people are chasing her everywhere? I wonder how she is now, I haven’t seen her in a while.”
Saying this, he deliberately half lowered his head, his eyes drooping as if he looked disappointed.
“You also know my heart for her has never changed over the years, but she doesn’t like me, all I can do is stay away, after all, now that she has Levi by her side.”
Layton reached up to pat her on the shoulder before turning heavy and opening his mouth again.
“Ruby’s situation is really bad right now.”
Benjamin wanted to hear his words, so he looked up sharply and asked softly, “What happened to her?”

Layton hesitated, the corners of his lips pursed, before telling him that Wyon was using Ruby’s daughter to blackmail her.
As soon as he heard that, Benjamin’s face immediately changed.
“Wyon is crazy about an heirloom? How can he dare to do something like that?” At that moment, he violently stood up and was about to leave.
Layton stopped him, “Hey, what are you doing? You’re not going to see Wyon, are you, or are you going to see Ruby?”.
Benjamin gritted his teeth: “Both, I’m just going to ask why Wyon is doing this, at least Raphael and Ruby have been friends for so many years!”.
“For what?” Layton wrinkled his brow, “Wyon is a notoriously profit oriented person, when have you ever seen him care about his own family?”
At the end of his sentence, there was even gnashing of teeth in his tone.
Benjamin’s face was dark, but under his eyes, in a dark corner, there was a glint of cunning.
After a few moments, he spoke in a gravelly voice and asked, “And Ruby, how is she now, is she still out of danger?”
Layton nodded, “Well, she’s awake. Her life is not in danger at the moment and her health is normal.”
“Then I’ll go and see her, where is she now, has she not left the capital yet?”.
Layton nodded again, but his face was not optimistic, he was silent for a while before sighing.
“Even if you go to see her now, she might not recognize you.”
At these words, Benjamin’s eyes flickered slightly, “What do you mean by that?”.
“To tell you the truth, there’s nothing wrong with Ruby’s physical state, but her brain seems to have a problem.”
“Brain problem?”
“She’s had some memory problems, some memories are forgotten, some are misremembered and her personality has become eccentric, not even like it used to be.”
These words matched what Lewis had told him, the reason he had asked Layton out today was to confirm the credibility of this one thing.
“A memory problem, really, how could that have happened?”
Layton sat back down on the couch, apparently with a slight headache.
“I don’t know. Even though she still remembers me now, she might forget me someday. Levi took her to the hospital for examination, they did all the checks, but found nothing, no external or internal injuries, blood tests were also normal, but somehow such a problem appeared, until now, we still don’t know the cause of this result, and…”
At this point, he paused.
Benjamin’s eyes looked at him, urging him to continue, “So what, what else happened?”
Layton: “Ruby forgets that she knows how to heal.”
At these words, Benjamin stood up again with a face full of astonishment.
“Forgetting that she knows how to heal? Did she forget how to apply treatments? How is that possible? Healing is his proudest skill, it’s impossible for him to forget!”.
Layton looked a little dejected and leaned back against the back of the sofa. “I’m not sure what exactly is going on, but it seems like he really forgot. Levi is anxious, so we can only find a way to save her, but before that, we still have to find a way to check what exactly caused Ruby to lose part of her memory.”
Benjamin stood in his seat for a while before sitting back down.
His face looked hard to read, and he remained silent for a long moment before saying in a deep voice.
“Since it’s all so messy now, I won’t go and cause trouble. If there’s any news, let me know immediately, and I’ll try to find out if there are any doctors more qualified to help.”
Without much hesitation, Layton nodded his head.
Both men were not in the mood that night and soon dispersed.
