Chapter 445:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Daddy,” said the little girl with a bitter face as soon as she saw him, expectantly, “Why hasn’t mommy woken up yet? I’m so worried.”
Levi’s thin lips pursed as he reached over and gently stroked the top of her head, reassuring her in a warm voice, “Don’t worry, Mommy will wake up for sure.”
The little girl sniffed, her big watery eyes looked up at him and she could only trust him as he nodded gently.
After another quarter of an hour, Ruby woke up.
She stared at the living room ceiling for a moment, before turning her head toward the bed.
By this time, Olivia had fallen asleep on the edge of the bed, and as soon as Levi came out with his cell phone, he planted himself in the hallway to call Chester, instructing him to go outside to investigate.
When he came through the door, he saw that Ruby had woken up and hurried over to her.
“How are you?”

In front of his worried eyes, the guilt in Ruby’s heart increased, but for the greater good, she endured it.
“I’m fine.” She shook her head, then looked around the room and asked pretentiously, “Where am I?”
Levi’s expression froze and his voice tightened as he asked, “You don’t remember?”
Ruby cocked her head to the side, “What should I remember?”.
After confirming that she really didn’t remember being sent here for a checkup, Levi’s heart sank, and only after a moment did she speak, “I brought you here to do a checkup.”
“Have a checkup?” Ruby reached up and rubbed the corner of her forehead, “Am I sick? Why do I have to have a checkup? I feel a little dizzy…”
Hearing her say this, Levi instantly became nervous and, without a word, rang the nurse’s doorbell. He asked her to invite Dr. Moore to come in.
Soon, Dr. Moore came rushing over, “What’s the matter, has something happened?”
Levi stood up, made room and explained, “Ruby said she felt her head was dizzy.”
At this point, he paused and gave Doctor Moore a complicated look.
“Also, she doesn’t remember anything from before she was brought to the hospital and she’s not sure why she’s here.”
Hearing this, Doctor Moore’s face changed, after a careful examination, he sighed.
“It’s nothing serious, she seems normal, it’s probably another attack on her neurons. At the moment I can’t do anything but prescribe medication to stabilize his condition, I hope he holds out for a while so he doesn’t deteriorate any further.”
At these words, Levi nodded, “I have already sent someone abroad to investigate, I hope to have the results as soon as possible, in the meantime, I am counting on you, Doctor Moore.”
Doctor Moore first nodded, then waved his hand, “No need to be so polite, Ruby is also someone from my lab, I have benefited a lot from working with her for so long, naturally I don’t want a genius like her to fall, just like that. I’ll do everything I can to help her.”
As the two men spoke, Layton came in and placed some lunch boxes on the small table.
“Mr. Levi, you and Olivia haven’t eaten much in the last two days. Now that Ruby is awake, you should eat something. If she keeps tossing and turning like this, even an iron man won’t be able to keep up, not to mention Olivia is so small.”
That was a good point, even if Levi had no appetite, he had to protect himself for Olivia and Ruby’s sake.
“What about you, aren’t you staying for lunch?” Levi brought the food to the table and asked when he saw Layton was about to leave.
Layton shook his head, “No, Benjamin asked me out, I’ll go there.”
Hearing Benjamin’s name, both Levi and Ruby’s faces changed. But no one noticed that Ruby’s eyes shone with a bright glint.
Levi remembered how crazy that guy was earlier, so he immediately furrowed his eyebrows, “What did he want from you?”
Layton didn’t know the grudge between Benjamin and them. He shrugged with a nonchalant expression, “I don’t know, most likely he was buying me drinks when he was bored, lately it’s no fun without Raphael gone.”
When it came to Raphael, he couldn’t help but get a headache.
However, Levi wasn’t worried about that at all at the moment, but rather fretted and his expression became wary.
“Did Benjamin say anything to you?” he asked.
Layton froze, unsure, “Say what? Is he supposed to have said something to me?”
As soon as she looked at him like that, Levi knew he still didn’t know anything and that he was completely in the dark.
At that moment, he hesitated for a moment before trying to tell the story of how he and Ruby were about to be besieged earlier.
However, just as he was about to speak, Ruby interjected.
“Benjamin? Go ahead, don’t forget to tell Benjamin that I’m still thinking about the jade in his hand. When he’s willing to part with it, be the first to let me have it!”.
At these words, both Layton and Levi were stunned.
Levi didn’t understand: “Lamb fat jade? What lamb fat jade?”.
Layton, however, instantly remembered the old days and put on a dejected face.
“It was a long time ago. Benjamin has a high quality mutton fat jade and he doesn’t want to give it to others. Ruby had talked to him about this for a long time. Benjamin agreed with Ruby with everything, but due to the fact that the origin of the jade is unknown, so he didn’t give it to her. He may have his reasons.”
With that, she sighed, “But it’s been a long time since this incident happened, Ruby if you suddenly say that now…”
She paused and her eyes flicked to Levi, whose face immediately sank.
They both realized that Ruby’s memory had created another mistake.
