Chapter 169:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Kelly’s POV
The familiar touch of his fingers. The familiar graze of his tongue. The affectionate gaze of his blue eyes. The gentleness of his voice. Everything about him makes me weak and strong at the same time. He excites me. He makes me nervous. He brings me pain. He fills me with joy. Without him, I feel like I can’t function properly anymore.
I rolled onto the right side of the bed and my eyes found his bare back, the peaceful rhythm of his breathing beside me.

I could still feel his touch—the remnants of his fingers and kisses lingering on my skin, and I couldn’t help but reminisce about what happened between us last night. How he confessed that he was deeply in love with me. How he proposed. How he kissed me so hungrily.
I pressed my lips together and slowly lifted my hand. The tip of my fingers gently grazed his shoulder, feeling the hardness of his muscles. He felt warm, and I wanted to touch him all day and night.
“You wanna make love again?” Pierce’s hoarse voice startled me.
Slowly, he turned onto his back and faced me. His eyes locked with mine, and I couldn’t help but stare at him nervously.
He proposed to me last night. We made love. He told me he was deeply in love with me. Everything about it felt real, right? I wasn’t dreaming, was I?
My lips parted. I wanted to speak, to say something, but the words wouldn’t come. I was still in awe, still unable to fully process what had happened.
It was real, wasn’t it? He really did propose to me. He forgave me and gave me another chance. He wants us to start fresh—him, me, and our children.
The thought made me so happy. My heart pounded in my chest, overwhelmed with joy that hurt all at once.
The corner of his lips lifted, and soon, he wore an amused smirk.
“You’ve been in love with me for so long. How stupid was I not to notice it?”
I pursed my lips, then pushed them out in mock frustration. “I feel like you’re bragging.”
He chuckled and gently caressed my cheek, brushing the stray strands of hair from my face.
“I am,” he admitted with a smile. “Who wouldn’t brag when I have such a beautiful and amazing girl beside me, watching me sleep, making me fall for her harder every day?”
My cheeks flushed as I stared at his handsome face. He hadn’t changed much over the years, aside from his physical features. But the maturity in his expression was evident, in a good way. He was handsome back then, but now—he was even more so. I think I’ve said it before, but I couldn’t help saying it again.
He faced me completely, lying on his side. “Where do you want to get married? What kind of wedding do you want?”
I smiled and placed my palms under my pillow. “Anything, as long as my wedding gown’s veil still reaches the door entrance while I’m walking down the aisle.”
He chuckled and nodded, as if listening to me entertained him.
I liked it. I enjoyed spending time with him like this. They say it’s quality time, and it’s something to treasure.
He reached for my hand and slowly intertwined our fingers. I was amazed at how perfectly my fingers fit with his.
It’s actually fascinating how every little thing about us complements each other. It’s as if we were made for each other, and that thought was irredeemable.
I saw him staring at our intertwined fingers too. A ghost of a smile tugged at his lips, and his brown eyes watched me, full of happiness.
“A grand wedding and a beautiful gown, then. What about guests? Do you want to invite those girls who tried to bully you before?”
I chuckled and playfully kicked his leg beneath the sheets. We were still naked, but I didn’t mind.
“Those girls didn’t care about me when I was still a nerd. They only started bullying me when we got close.”
He smirked. “Well, they were crushing on me back then.”
I rolled my eyes. “You’re the reason behind my misery during school days, but you’re also the reason for my happiness now.”
His lips curved into a sweet smile. “You are also my source of happiness, Kelly. When you left, I lost my will to smile. My hopes and dreams shattered. So, I promised myself that when you came back, I’d do anything in my power to keep you safe and reassured. No matter what happens, my love for you will be known, and you will learn just how much I’m in love with you.”
I smiled at him. “You made it known, and thank you for letting me know.”
“You won’t regret giving me another chance, Kelly,” he said softly. “I’ll marry you in every church. I’ll love you in every way possible. You gave me your heart again, and I’ll take good care of it now. Not just as a best friend and a husband, but as a lover. A man in love with his other half.”
