Chapter 677:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
After learning that Emily was pregnant, the family gathered in the living room, while the kitchen was occupied by the chef.
“The doctor said the child is only two weeks old. If it hadn’t been for the exam, it probably would have been a long time before we found out,” said Ruben as he looked at Emily, who was resting in his arms, with a beaming smile.
At that moment, Ruben felt like he was dreaming. He hadn’t expected to become a father so soon.
RK watched Ruben, with a wry smile. He hadn’t expected him to be right, but he still accepted it.
Stella leaned into RK’s arms and looked at Emily, smiling happily. Emily had found her happiness, and Stella was genuinely happy for her.
“Stella, are you okay?”
RK looked at her, noticing that she looked fatigued. Concern showed on her face.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just a little sleepy,” Stella said, shaking her head as she answered.
Lately, she always felt the need to sleep. She didn’t understand why. At first she thought it was jet lag, but after so long, she still felt an inexplicable tiredness.
RK rubbed his forehead, looking for any sign of fever. He wasn’t hot.
“Stella, what’s wrong?” Mrs. Kingston’s words drew everyone’s attention to Stella.
“I’m fine, just a little tired,” Stella replied, sitting up and smiling at Mrs. Kingston.
“How long have you been feeling like this?” asked Mrs. Kingston, her tone concerned.
“I’ve been very sleepy lately,” Stella said, looking at Mrs. Kingston with a somewhat worried air.

RK frowned as he listened to her, and hugged her gently. In recent days, Stella would fall asleep very early at night and spend hours resting during the day. She wouldn’t get up until late in the afternoon. Although he had noticed this, she kept insisting that she was fine.
At first he thought she might have a cold, but she didn’t seem to have a fever or other obvious symptoms. He tried to convince her to go to the hospital for a checkup, but she refused.
“Stella, are you pregnant too?” Mrs. Kingston, with a look of happiness in her eyes, gently pointed to Stella’s belly.
“That’s impossible. If I were pregnant, I wouldn’t be reacting like this,” Stella quickly replied. She hadn’t had similar symptoms when she was expecting her little Rian.
“How long has it been since your last period?” asked Mrs. Kingston, bluntly.
Stella’s face flushed immediately upon hearing the direct question.
“I was late last month. It’s not an unusual thing after having Adrian. I’ve been expecting it, but it’s not that irregular,” Stella replied, a little uncomfortably.
At the time, she didn’t pay much attention to it, as she wanted to concentrate on taking care of Adrian, but then she started to feel sick. Fortunately, she only had delays from time to time.
“So, it’s possible,” Mrs. Kingston commented, smiling.
“That can’t be. When I was pregnant with Adrian, I never felt so sleepy. I was just nauseous and couldn’t eat anything. Emily knows I had a much stronger reaction then,” Stella said, looking at Emily and holding out her hand to her.
They all turned to look at Emily.
Emily nodded. She remembered all too well how bad Stella felt when she was pregnant with Adrian, always fighting nausea and exhaustion.
“Could it be that you’re expecting a girl?” thought RK aloud, as his fingers stroked Stella’s belly gently.
“Honey, did you feel so bad when you were expecting me?” Adrian, overhearing the conversation, asked quietly, not knowing exactly how to describe what his mother was feeling.
“I felt exhausted when I waited for you, but fortunately you’re a sensible boy now,” Stella replied, laughing softly as she scratched Adrian’s nose.
The boy nodded, not quite understanding, but determined to take better care of Stella from now on.
“Why don’t you go get yourself checked out too?” Mrs. Kingston looked at RK and Stella with a look that begged for no further delay.
RK looked at Stella, who was already starting to fall asleep in his arms.
“Let’s do it another day. Now, we’d better get some rest. I’ll see that everything is ready when the food is served,” RK said calmly, indicating that although he wanted to know if Stella was pregnant or not, he’d rather she rest first.
Mrs. Kingston nodded, understanding how tired Stella was, and agreed that it wasn’t urgent, although it would be better if they resolved it soon.
RK went upstairs to his room with Stella in his arms. The family remained downstairs, gathered around Emily.
Adrian, curious, touched Emily’s belly, still unable to believe there was a baby there. He stood there for a while, touching her belly, before shyly walking away.
Mr. Kingston watched them with a nostalgic smile, feeling that the house was more alive than ever. If only they had more children.
“Emily is pregnant now. You’ll have to get married soon, or it won’t look good for you to wear a wedding dress later,” Mrs. Kingston commented, looking at Ruben as she thought of everything that needed to be done.
Ruben nodded, surprised at the speed of Emily’s pregnancy. They hadn’t expected it all to happen so soon, but at least they didn’t take any contraceptive measures, so it wasn’t a total surprise.
Emily took Ruben’s hand. She remembered what he had told her earlier about going back into the entertainment industry. Now that she was pregnant, he probably wouldn’t go back.
Ruben squeezed Emily’s hand, aware of her thoughts. To him, nothing was more important than Emily and the baby they were expecting.
