Chapter 679:
Mrs. Kingston asked that they set up a round table in the living room and suggested that the family could have dinner while watching the New Year’s Eve program.
Mr. Kingston, in his usual accommodating manner, said nothing. He always spoiled his wife, and there weren’t many rules in his house.
When RK brought Stella down the stairs, the table was already full of china. The whole family was sitting on the couch, waiting for the two of them to arrive.
The round table was full of people, all ready to enjoy the celebration.
The New Year’s party was all about spending time together, enjoying each other’s company.
Stella had never experienced such a lively New Year’s Eve at the Richard family home.
“Stella, Emily, I prepared this soup especially for the two of you. Please drink it,” Mrs. Kingston said with a gentle smile as she looked at the two women.
Emily nodded. She knew that, now that she was expecting a child, she had to take care of her health and eat whatever was offered, even if she didn’t feel like it.
Fortunately, it had only been two weeks and there were no adverse reactions. When Stella was pregnant with Adrian, she had suffered a lot and was afraid of getting pregnant again.
Stella looked at Mrs. Kingston and nodded, although inwardly she didn’t feel much like drinking the soup.
RK poured a bowl of soup for Stella and placed it in front of her. He knew she didn’t like that tonic soup, but he also knew she wouldn’t dare refuse it.
Stella nodded and, although she didn’t want it, she decided not to refuse.
She had always thought that the Kingston family only got together for the holidays, but that night there was something special in the air.
She didn’t know how that round table had appeared in the living room, but the layout and the company seemed perfect.
Stella remembered that she had only had such a warm and festive meal with Emily and Adrian in the past, never anything so lively.

“Stella, eat some more,” RK said, noting that she seemed to have lost weight in the last few days.
“Yes,” Stella replied, not knowing what RK was thinking, but merely nodding.
“The food is ready,” Mrs. Kingston said, bringing a tray with dumplings.
Stella looked at the dumplings. Some she had prepared herself, while others had been made by the chef.
Adrian, unafraid of the heat, took a dumpling from one end and popped it into his mouth.
“Is it delicious, little Rian?” Mrs. Kingston asked with a smile as she looked at Adrian, eager to know if the filling was just right.
Adrian gave a thumbs up, confirming that he liked it.
Mrs. Kingston smiled and stroked Adrian’s hair.
“When you’re done eating, I’ll take you to light fireworks,” Ruben said with a smile, watching Adrian’s enthusiasm.
“Good!” Adrian smiled back at him, happy at the idea of fireworks, and continued eating the dumplings.
The New Year’s Eve program was still on TV, and the whole family was watching. Although they were not in their usual home, they felt comfortable there, as if they were in their own home. They fondly remembered the years of watching the New Year’s Eve program together.
Mr. Kingston couldn’t help but smile at the sight of his entire family gathered together.
Mrs. Kingston smiled too, her eyes sparkling with happiness. It had been a long time since her family had been in such high spirits. Although RK and Ruben often returned for the holidays, they rarely spent time together like they did that night.
RK had some unfinished business, and Ruben would be leaving after dinner. That night, however, they would all stay together, watching TV after dinner.
Mr. Kingston held his wife’s hand, knowing how much she enjoyed those moments as a family, and gave her the assurance that those moments would be repeated in the future.
Emily was pregnant, Ruben would also be a father, and soon there would be even more members in the family.
“Grandma, try this, it’s delicious!” Adrian said to Mrs. Kingston as he put a piece of braised pork on her plate.
“It’s good, it must be delicious,” Mrs. Kingston replied, stroking Adrian’s hair tenderly.
Adrian smiled broadly, pleased that Grandma enjoyed her meal.
Suddenly, RK felt the urge to keep Adrian close to him, but after a moment’s thought, he decided against it. He didn’t want to let go of Stella.
Stella seemed to sense what was going through RK’s mind. With a smile, she took his hand.
RK turned to look at her, sensing the deep connection between them.
“What are you thinking?” asked Stella as she offered him some food. “Eat something.”
RK nodded and, taking the fork, brought the food to his mouth.
Dinner was soon over, and Stella and Emily offered to help Mrs. Kingston clear the table.
That evening, Mrs. Kingston decided to give all the servants the day off.
The men of the Kingston family settled in the living room to watch television, while Adrian’s laughter drifted into the kitchen.
After packing, Mrs. Kingston and Mr. Kingston went up to their room and then retired early, as the night had begun to cool down.
Stella, although she had slept a lot that afternoon, still felt a little sleepy.
RK and Stella returned to their room, while Ruben and Emily took Adrian to the garden to light fireworks.
“Dude, I want to let go, can you teach me?” Adrian looked at Ruben with sparkling eyes, eager to set off the fireworks himself.
“No, you’re still too little. It’s dangerous. You and your aunt will watch from the side,” Ruben replied, unwilling to let Adrian handle the fireworks.
Adrian frowned and, annoyed, turned back to Emily.
“Auntie and big uncle don’t play with me,” Adrian complained as soon as he returned to Emily’s side.
