Chapter 684:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Adrian smiled awkwardly. Looking at Seventeen, he remembered Baby.
“Humph, forget about it. Go back to rest early. Wait for me, I’ll find you soon.” Baby didn’t think too much about his words. He only asked about the situation in the country and mentioned that he wanted to run away from home, even though he knew that if he did, he would face the consequences from his father.
“Okay, bye,” Adrian said, hanging up the phone and taking a deep breath.
“Seventeen, where’s Alicia?” Stella asked, since she hadn’t seen her. She figured that even if Seventeen had come to pick them up, since she knew Alicia, she would surely have come with him.
“She went back home,” Seventeen replied, frowning slightly.
Stella nodded, saying nothing more.
“Aunt Alicia came home. Uncle Seventeen, are you home alone?” Adrian suddenly thought about how lonely Seventeen must be, living in the country without much company.
Seventeen nodded, but said nothing.
Seventeen looked at RK. He had something to ask her, but he wasn’t sure how to go about it.
RK, noticing the look on Seventeen’s face, realized what he wanted and, without hesitation, agreed to help him. He knew that if anything happened to Seventeen, it would affect him too, since they were so close.
Stella and Emily wanted to go back to their apartment, but RK and Ruben objected. They said they would go to the RK Mansion, since, being that they were both pregnant women, it was better to be in a place where there would always be people who could take care of them. Finally, they had no choice but to accept.
After dropping them off at the mansion, Seventeen was about to return, but Adrian stopped him.
“Uncle Seventeen, Aunt Alice isn’t home! Are you going to be alone if you go back, why don’t you stay with us at the RK Mansion?” Adrian took Seventeen’s hand and looked at him expectantly.
Seventeen looked at Adrian, not knowing what to answer. It was not easy for him to live alone.
“Yes, Seventeen, why don’t you stay with us?” Reuben interjected, smiling. He figured it wouldn’t be a problem to have one more person in RK Manor. It was so big it wouldn’t even be noticed.

RK nodded as well. Since Stella and Emily were pregnant, he and Ruben would have to take care of them. Besides, Adrian also needed company. It was perfect for Seventeen to stay with them.
Seventeen looked at them all, then looked at Adrian, and finally nodded. Adrian was the happiest about the decision.
After that, RK watched as Stella drifted off to sleep, quietly, and decided to head to the study. He had been gone a long time, and there were several things pending at the company.
Shortly after RK sat down at his desk, someone knocked on the door.
“Come in,” RK said without looking up from the papers.
“I want to ask you a favor,” Seventeen said, entering the study.
“It’s about Alicia, isn’t it?” RK asked, knowing something must be going on with her.
“Yes,” Seventeen replied without hesitation. Although he didn’t remember all the details about his relationship with Alicia, she had told him a lot of things, and he remembered some vague fragments as well.
“All right. I’ll find someone to investigate,” RK nodded. Although Seventeen now worked for him, he would help him as Adrian’s friend as well.
“Sorry for the inconvenience,” Seventeen said, gratefully, and left the study after hearing RK’s reply.
RK stopped writing for a moment. He thought about the complicated situation at home, but didn’t think it was a problem.
The phone rang, and RK looked at it. It was Miriam.
“Hello, why did you call me?” RK asked. Although he had told Miriam not to call him while he was out of the country, he hadn’t expected her to call him so soon after she returned.
“President Kingston, there’s a banquet tomorrow night. I was wondering if you would be there,” Miriam said, a little more nervous than usual. Even though she had been released, she always felt the need to keep an eye on anything to do with RK.
“Is it important?” RK thought for a moment and wasn’t sure he wanted to go.
“It’s about cooperation with another company, a key collaboration. If he doesn’t go, it could be ruined,” Miriam said, praying inwardly that RK would attend, for that cooperation was vital.
“Okay, I’ll do it,” RK said, rubbing the space between his eyebrows, agreeing to attend the banquet. He had not expected engagements to arise so soon after his return.
It was already late when RK returned to the RK Mansion. The group had only given a few days off, so the people in the company had already started working. Only RK and Ruben had just returned.
Although RK had planned to go straight back to the company, he decided to stay home a little longer to be with Stella and Emily.
After a moment’s thought, RK called Ruben and asked him to come to the studio.
“Rene, do you have something important to tell me?” Ruben had been chatting with Emily when RK interrupted.
“I called you to ask if you want to attend the banquet tomorrow or if you’d rather go back to the entertainment industry,” RK asked. Although he wasn’t expecting much from Ruben, he wanted to know what he thought. Ruben had always been free and didn’t like to feel restricted.
“Well…I have to think about it,” Ruben replied, not sure what to do. Emily had told him to do whatever he wanted, but he wanted to be close to her.
“Think it over. After you decide, tell me. I’ll arrange a banquet for you,” RK said. He hadn’t arranged one for Ruben before the New Year because he was just helping him. If Ruben decided to stay with the company, RK would be sure to arrange something to celebrate.
“Okay, I got it,” Ruben replied, no longer as cheerful as before. He seemed to be lost in thought.
RK nodded. As far as he was concerned, the best thing for Ruben would be to stay with the company. He knew someone would help him, so he wouldn’t have to be so stressed or tired.
