Chapter 687:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
When RK returned home, Stella was already asleep, hugging a book with her hands.
RK gently took the book from her hands and set it aside. Then he helped Stella settle into bed and tucked her in gently.
“Rene…” Stella murmured, vaguely sensing RK’s return, and called out to him in her sleep.
“I’m here. I’m going to take a shower.” RK kissed her forehead and replied softly.
“Okay,” Stella replied, turning over and going back to sleep.
RK grabbed his pajamas and headed for the bathroom.
When RK emerged from the shower, Stella was still in the same position. As soon as RK settled into bed, Stella wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him.
RK turned off the light, settled on the bed and hugged Stella, thinking about Damien. He was sure Stella would be happy if he told her about him the next day.
The next day, Stella woke up early, but RK did not, as he had slept too late.
Stella got up, washed up and went downstairs.
“Ma’am, this letter is for you,” Aunt Maya said, seeing Stella coming downstairs.
Mrs. Maya handed her a letter that Stella had asked to be packed the day before. Opening the door, Stella saw that there were several documents. He had planned to deliver them to her yesterday, but she had fallen asleep early.
Stella picked everything up, not knowing who had sent her the letter.
As she looked out the window at the scenery, she noticed that the letter had different places written on it. After flipping through it, she immediately recognized Tristan’s handwriting.
Tristan wrote:
“Stella, this is the first place I have ever been. I don’t know if you will like it, but I like it very much. I hope you are well.”

“Stella, this is the third place I’ve been. I met the person I loved and I will travel all over the world with her. I hope you will be happy.”
“Stella, I don’t remember how many places I have visited, but I am very happy. I hope you are well too.”
“Stella, I’m sorry. I was too selfish back then. I hope you can forgive me. I hope you are well.”
Stella didn’t know how many letters Tristan had sent her, but she remembered that he always ended with the same sentence, “I hope you’re happy and doing well.”
Tears began to fall down her cheeks. At the time, she had some resentment toward Tristan, but that feeling soon disappeared. She only wished he could find his love.
Tristan had always been very kind to her since she was little. Her affection for him had always been like that of an older brother. She would be happy if he had a good life, and she hoped he would find someone to share it with.
As RK came down the stairs, he saw Stella crying as she held the letters. He immediately quickened his pace toward her.
“Stella, what’s wrong?” RK hugged her and looked at the papers in her hands.
“Brother Tristan sent them to me,” Stella said, pointing to the papers in front of her.
RK nodded and picked up a letter to read.
Sometimes, RK felt jealous of Tristan. He had been in Stella’s life for so long, and, whether it was because of their childhood relationship or Adrian’s good relationship with him, he couldn’t help but feel jealous. But he also felt gratitude toward Tristan. If it hadn’t been for him, he didn’t know if Stella would be with him or Adrian.
“All right, enough crying. He’s doing so well now. Shouldn’t we be happy for him?” RK said softly as he kissed Stella’s eyes and wiped the tears on her face.
Stella nodded, wishing the best for Tristan.
“I’ll tell you something that will make you happy,” RK rubbed Stella’s nose and smiled. Seeing her eyes swollen from crying, he felt a little annoyed.
“What is it?” Stella sniffled and curiously looked at RK.
“I saw Damien yesterday,” RK said, noting the disbelief on Stella’s face.
“Really?” Stella looked at him in surprise. She hadn’t heard from Damien in a while. She had tried calling him, but he seemed to have changed his number and she couldn’t get in touch with him.
RK nodded, sure he hadn’t made a mistake.
Stella hugged RK and kissed him on the lips. Then she immediately got up and ran upstairs. She wanted to tell Emily the news.
RK looked at her and smiled, feeling a mixture of amusement and tenderness. It didn’t bother him to see Stella so happy.
RK picked up the papers on the table and looked out the window at the scenery. He wondered if he should hang them somewhere, for the scenery was beautiful and Tristan’s letters were a poignant reminder. She still wished Stella was healthy and happy for the rest of her life.
“Emily, Emily,” Stella cried out excitedly, forgetting that Ruben was also in the room. She ran straight to Ruben’s door and began knocking.
RK, hearing her, didn’t stop her. He thought there was no problem with Stella bothering Ruben, since she had already started.
Ruben was kissing Emily when he heard the knock on the door and Stella’s voice. He stopped immediately, stunned.
