Chapter 270:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
When Magnus arrived at the restaurant, he was surprised to see Joseph eating lunch with the kids.
“Mr. Beckham, you could have given me directions over the phone. You didn’t need to come in person.”
“They wanted to have dinner at this place, and I thought it’s pretty close to your house, so I asked you to come.”
Magnus knew Joseph wasn’t here for him at all. It was just that Joseph came here for lunch, and it just so happened that Magnus lived nearby, so Joseph arranged everything.
“How’s the staff set up for the press conference later?”
“It’s all done.” Magnus assured, “They’re combat experts, and I think they can control the crowd. If anyone dares to start a fight, they’ll have consequences to deal with.”
“Great.” Joseph nodded.
“The investigation is almost complete.”
“How was it?”
“Caesar had a few bodyguards six years ago. I found two of them working as trainers at a gym. They said they were looking for someone in a bar during the night of February 18.”
“Looking for someone?” Joseph frowned, “Who were they looking for?”
“A girl.” Magnus whispered, but didn’t realize Stella had stopped eating and was trying to eavesdrop.
“They said the concierge asked them to find that girl and send her to the ST Hotel suite after blindfolding her and giving her medication.”
Joseph recalled what happened six years earlier. That night he felt a little drunk. The lights in the room were off and he didn’t bother to find out what the surrogate mother looked like. The girl was blindfolded and looked drugged from how aggressive she was that night.
“But they said they didn’t find the girl that night.”
Magnus’ voice snapped Joseph out of his memory.
“What?” Joseph was surprised.
Caesar didn’t send the surrogate to the hotel room six years earlier, but Joseph did sleep with a girl that night. Caesar even told him that the girl was pregnant and brought him a child after nine months.
Magnus looked at Joseph and continued, “I have asked them several times to make sure, but they assured me that they never found that girl that night. They all went looking for her, and even searched the whole street. It was almost midnight when Caesar asked them to stop looking, but the strange thing is that after a month, Caesar asked them to kidnap a young girl who was about to undergo an abortion in a hospital.”
Joseph could see what happened now when all the pieces fell into place.
The real surrogate mother didn’t show up that night for some reason, and another girl was sent to her room by mistake.
It was no wonder .
