Chapter 271:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
No wonder that girl was calling someone else that night.
Cesar made a mistake. The surrogate didn’t show up that night, so Cesar sent another girl to the room. After that, Cesar had that girl deliver the baby to cover up his mistake. Cesar was afraid that what he did might come out, so he fired the first batch of bodyguards and then retired from the job.
Now everything is crystal clear.
“I’m afraid Caesar wanted to take this secret with him to the coffin.” Magnus said regretfully, “But somehow, this secret affected someone. YA they went and interrogated Caesar, they knew we suspected it. So they killed Caesar before we found out the truth, it wasn’t an accident.”
“Bottom line, someone didn’t want us to know that girl was the wrong one.”

“That girl…”.
“Look for her.” Joseph frowned. He glanced at Noah, who was concentrating on his food, and then whispered, “Take Noah’s DNA if you have to, and run it against the N-City DNA bank.”
The truth was far from clear. At first, Joseph didn’t care about Noah’s birth mother, and he didn’t want her to show up near him, but now it seemed like it was all about a conspiracy. He needed to know the truth.
Magnus realized its importance. He nodded, “Sure. I’ll start looking now.”
…
It was two o’clock in the afternoon. The Green Lemon Clothing press conference was held in the Conference Room of the DF Hotel. Many journalists attended the press conference. People knew about Hayden and Joseph, so they wanted to dig up some gossip.
Hayden was reading the script given to him by Benson. It was only five minutes before he had to go on stage.
“Hey lady, you can’t come in like that.”
“Hey, what are you doing? Call the police. Call the police…”.
Noises suddenly rose from outside the hall. Just when Hayden thought the someone was trying to sabotage his press conference, he heard an intense and familiar voice.
“I’m looking for Miss Downey.”
Hayden was startled. The door opened the next second.
“Aunt Scarlett.”
Scarlett was standing by the parlor door. She wore a dark green coat with an elegant scarf around her neck. She looked to be in her forties, although she was already in her fifties. Scarlett was accompanied by three bodyguards who prevented her from approaching.
Scarlett was obviously angry. She walked into the room and said, “Hayden, you don’t need to attend the press conference today.”
“What, why?” Hayden was still holding the script and Scarlett took it from him.
Scarlett threw the script in the trash after glancing at what she had written on it.
“It’s useless to say all this, those reporters are shameless. Bentley was very irresponsible to leave this mess for you to clean up. I’ll take care of everything today.”
“Aunt Scarlett, I can’t.” Hayden looked at Scarlett with concern.
Everything was all set up just fine and now Aunt Scarlett was showing up to scramble his plan?
“What are you talking about, are you saying my words aren’t as powerful as yours?”
Joseph’s voice rose as they argued. “What’s wrong?”
Hayden was startled. Then he saw that Stella and Noah were hugging his legs. Stella lifted her head and called out to her, “Mommy!”.
Things were getting out of hand. Hayden looked at Joseph, “Why did you bring them here? This isn’t a party, what are you all doing here?”.
“You fussy little girl. Let me be the one to tell the media that Bentley is a bad person and wasn’t even your real father. You have nothing to do with the Downey Group-why didn’t you understand me?”
Scarlett was a temperamental person. Hayden didn’t know how to communicate with her when she seemed so angry .
