Chapter 277:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“So you did bring me dinner, why couldn’t you tell me? What a weirdo you are.”
Benjamin twitched his lips in disgust and muttered. Looking at the food on the table, he felt his heart grow warm.
Night covered the city of N City, the city lights became the stars in the night sky.
Hayden came out of the bathroom after showering. He stopped the moment he saw the person in his room.
“Damn it, why didn’t I close the door?”.

Too much happened in one day. Hayden was exhausted, so he headed for the shower once he got to his room. He completely forgot to lock the door.
“What are you doing here?”
Joseph was sitting on the couch near the balcony. He was holding a book that Hayden was reading before he went to bed. It was ‘A Brief History of Time’ by Stephen Hawking. Joseph raised his head when he heard Hayden’s question.
He closed the book and dodged his question, “What a good book to read before bed.”
“You’re overthinking it, I started reading it because I could easily fall asleep.” Hayden folded his arms and kept his distance from Joseph. The safe distance Hayden took was the width of a bed.
“Instead of looking at what I read before bed, you should knock on Benjamin’s door before he falls asleep, or you’re going to crawl back into Noah’s bed.”
Joseph frowned, “I haven’t showered yet.”
“Then go take a shower, there’s a bathroom outside.”
“The shower was broken, the water won’t come out.”
“That’s impossible.” Hayden glared at him.
“Go and see for yourself.” Joseph didn’t argue at all. He put the book aside and got up, “Let’s go.”
Hayden didn’t think the shower was broken. Benjamin had been living here for a while and she used the guest bathroom from time to time. The shower had been in perfect condition.
After five minutes, Hayden frowned as she held up the broken showerhead.
“See, I’m not lying.” Joseph’s voice rose from behind him.
“Then…shower in my bathroom and then get out.”
Hayden was speechless. He put the shower head back in place. “Remember to call the janitor if you’re home tomorrow. Ask them to send a plumber.”
“Okay.”
Joseph responded immediately. He glanced at the main switch on the water tank, there was a sly look in his eyes.
There was silence in the main room. Hayden was reading the Brief History of Time on the couch. There was no noise in the room other than the sound of water running out of the bathroom.
To Hayden physics was boredom and he began to doze off while reading the book. So Hayden grabbed a medical book off the shelf, hoping to refresh what he learned in the past.
Hayden sighed as he looked at the notes he had taken in the book during that time. If it hadn’t been for that accident, he would be a doctor now.
Light from the hallway streamed in through the crack in the door and a child’s voice rose as he turned the doorknob.
“Mom…”
Hayden lifted her head and saw Stella in strawberry pink pajamas looking up at her. Stella’s eyes twinkled like stars in the night sky.
