Chapter 103:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Sherry heard William’s accusation in his tone and couldn’t help but say, “No, he’s not. He just got himself into a temporary situation and didn’t get to do it. He probably didn’t expect it.”
“She left him here, and she’s still speaking for him. Miss, aren’t you too nice, didn’t your parents teach you that a woman can’t be too nice or else she’ll be bullied?” Cohen spoke in an odd way, as if he were lecturing a young man.
Sherry felt a little embarrassed, but she could hear the concern in his tone. She said, “No, Mr. Spencer, thank you for your kindness. William had something to do and was in a hurry.”
She was sure William didn’t want to leave her here. Something must have happened, and it was her fault for following him without money.
This was a lesson for her. The next time she went out she should bring money.

“How can she be so simple? You know men can’t be trusted.” Cohen spoke again in a serious tone.
Sherry froze and asked, “Then I can’t trust you either?”
Cohen was perplexed.
How could he forget that he was a man too, but he kept stubbornly saying, “I’m different! I’m a good man.”
Sherry wanted to laugh. She was grateful to see him speak for himself with so much effort. But he wouldn’t lend her money, so she had better think of another way!
“I’m going in!” Saying that, he headed inside the hotel.
“Wait, how much money does he want?” Cohen suddenly asked.
Sherry turned sharply and asked in surprise, “Mr. Spencer, are you willing to lend me money?”
Sherry was a little surprised. She thought he wouldn’t lend it to her.
“It’s only money! Money is bullshit, let’s spend it and earn it. You name it, how much do you want?” Cohen took out his wallet, pulled out a card and handed it to Sherry, “The password is 1234567. Spend whatever you want.”
“Mr. Spencer!” Sherry didn’t know how much money was on that credit card, but he seemed generous enough to even tell her the password.
She was grateful.
“I don’t know how much money is on it-how am I going to pay you back?”
“What, are you afraid there’s no money? Are you afraid I’ll blackmail you?” asked Cohen with a smile.
At this point, Sherry sensed that his smile was somewhat kind. Maybe it was because he looked like Liam.
“I just want to know how much I’ll pay you.”
“There’s a million, it’s not much. If it’s not enough for you, you can talk to me again!”
He was very generous and not so stingy with money.
“Ah! So much! Aren’t you afraid I won’t pay you back?”
“Then there’s no need to pay it back!” Cohen waved his hand. “If you’re really sorry, join me for a drink. I’m getting angry inside.”
Sherry was stunned, “You have something bothering you, too?”
Cohen was puzzled and asked suspiciously, “Why not?”.
Sherry smiled and explained, “Because the ancients said, ‘At thirty, you know the rules and can hold your own in society; at forty, you are more informed and can listen to different kinds of arguments without getting confused; at fifty, you know the fate that nature has given people; at sixty, you can distinguish truth from falsehood and judge right from wrong when you listen to the words of others; at seventy, you can follow your heart and not overstep the rules. You must be over forty years old, why do you still have things that bother you?”.
“Little girl, you’re so cultured!” Cohen laughed. “Come on. Let’s not drink, let’s drink coffee! Look how well-groomed she is! Forget it, let’s not drink!”
“Fine!”
Sherry didn’t feel good about turning him down again. After all, he was so generous, and had been encouraged to lend her money when they had just met. She felt she would be ungrateful if she thought any more.
The two sat in the café, chatting idly.
“Miss Sherry, what does your father do for a living?” asked Cohen as he took a sip of coffee.
Sherry’s eyes bugged out, “My father passed away a while back. He was a truck driver.”
“I’m sorry!” Cohen wasn’t expecting it, “And your mother?”
Sherry paused and said slowly, “My mother is gone too!”
Although Sierra was still alive, but in Sherry’s heart, she had been gone for years. From the day she left her with Luke, she was gone!
“Oh!” Cohen said no more.
Sherry wanted to ask him what his relationship with Susan was, but it seemed too blunt. She tried several times, but didn’t ask, too worried about Leon’s future with Susan. But Cohen didn’t seem like a bad guy either.
“When are you coming back?” asked Cohen again.
“I’m going back to my country early tomorrow morning.”
She had long wanted to go back, but William hadn’t let her. Now that he had something to do, it was time for her to go back.
“I’ll be back tomorrow morning, too. Why don’t we go together?” Cohen smiled.
He didn’t say anything, and Sherry didn’t know what was bothering him. They just drank a cup of coffee and he said to go back to rest, so Sherry went back to her room, too. Looking back at her, Cohen’s eyes were a little deep.
No one knew what he was thinking.
Sherry went back to packing her luggage, after finishing everything, suddenly someone knocked on the door.
She opened the door and discovered it was the chauffeur they employed these days, “Madame, Mr. Rowland asked me to send you back home. He has a flight to France. You take the early flight tomorrow morning. You should get a good night’s rest. Here’s the ticket!”
“France?” Sherry was a little worried. “Has something happened?”
The driver shook his head.
“I don’t know anything about it!”
“Oh! Well then, I’ll pack my things!” Sherry’s heart fluttered, “Thank you!”
“Don’t mention it, ma’am!” Said the driver and drove off.
Sherry’s heart grew even more restless. That phone call, she heard it was Liam calling her. But what on earth could have made William fly to France in the middle of the night!
Actually, there wasn’t much luggage and he picked it up quickly. Sherry ran her hand over her belly, wondering if a baby would be gestating here. She hoped not, because it hadn’t been fixed yet.
The next day, Sherry returned with Cohen. They talked a little during the trip, but nothing important. Sherry still didn’t know what her relationship with Susan was. She just felt sorry for Celia and Leon.
As soon as they got off the plane, at the pick-up point, Sherry told Cohen, “Mr. Spencer, this is your card. I haven’t used it. But thank you anyway.”
Cohen took the card and just smiled, “No need to be polite, Miss Sherry, do you need a ride home?”
“No, I can take the bus!” She said with a smile.
She was about to turn around when she suddenly saw Susan. She was stunned, “Sherry, why are you with him?”
Sherry froze.
“Sue, thanks to Mr. Spencer. William had a temporary engagement and I ran into Mr. Spencer, so we got back together!”
Susan nodded and looked back at Cohen, apparently a little surprised.
“I’ll go first!” Sherry was afraid to affect them.
“Okay, you go first!” As Sherry walked away, Susan said in a curt tone, “Don’t stick to Sherry. She’s too innocent.”
Cohen tugged her hand, pulled her along, and suddenly kissed her lips outside the airport, where people were coming and going. The moment Sherry turned around, she saw that scene and froze in her tracks.
Indeed, Sue and Cohen were really in a relationship! And they were lovers! Oh, God! So Leon couldn’t wait for Sue for the rest of his life? She was so scared she froze!
“Cohen! You bastard!” Susan screamed.
But Cohen looked at Susan and sneered at her in a deep voice: “Sue, why do you always despise my love for you? You are the only one in my heart.”
Susan restrained herself and pushed him away.
“Hurry up and leave!”
Seeing her distant look, Cohen called softly to her, “Sue, what I said is true.”
“Cohen, do you think I’m a three-year-old girl?”
She finally raised her head and gave him a look.
“Don’t pretend anymore!”
Sherry didn’t know where to turn. She didn’t have the key to Villa No. 15, so she decided to go back to Celia’s house!
As soon as she saw Sherry return alone, Celia was dismayed.
“Why did you come back alone?”
“William had something to do!” She simply said a few words.
Celia was immediately enraged.
“He left you penniless in Hokkaido and drove off alone?”
“Then the driver gave me the ticket!” said Sherry.
“No, what on earth would make him leave you in such a hurry to go to France? Think about it, he’s not the president of the Rowland Group now, what could possibly be going on to make him leave you behind? What’s more important than you?”
As soon as Celia said that, Sherry panicked.
“Call him!” Celia pulled out Sherry’s phone and dialed William’s number directly, but there was no answer on the other end. At the same time, as she was fidgeting and anxious, a different feeling surfaced in her mind.
What was going on….
Sherry had been home for three days without a single call from William.
She didn’t know what had happened, so she went to see Liam. When he saw Sherry, Liam wanted to talk, but stopped on second thought.
“Liam, what’s going on, what’s wrong with William?”.
Sherry was worried that something had happened to him. Liam shook his head.
“Sherry, it’s okay. Nothing’s wrong.”
Liam already knew about William and Sherry’s relationship. After the two left KTV that day, Celia told everyone about their relationship. Then she realized that Sherry was Sammy’s mother.
No wonder William treated her that way! In relation to what had happened before, she finally knew why William had an exclusive desire for Sherry. But now Lucille was back and something so big had happened.
What was to be done about it? Better that she say nothing and hope that William could handle everything properly.
“Liam, you’re hiding something from me!” Intuition told Sherry that something was wrong.
“Sherry!”
“Tell me. I need to know.”
“Sherry, it’s really okay!” said Liam.
“Then tell me where William is now. I want to know if he’s okay! You just tell me where William is. You can tell me, can’t you? Is he still in France?”
“Sherry, listen to me. William is back! It’s just that he needs to take care of the problem now! When he’s done, he’ll come see you.”
That was all Liam could say.
“Good! I won’t ask.” Sherry nodded.
“I’m coming back!”
Back at Celia’s apartment, Celia wasn’t there and no one was home. She was going to live here again and was going to start hitting on a new job.
It was very quiet for a while.
She pulled out her phone and glanced at her number, stunned. She thought and thought about it, but couldn’t resist pressing the dial button. This time, the call came through and her heart trembled with it.
“Hello!” the gravelly voice seemed to come from another time and space.
“Sherry, are you back?”
“Yes! I’m back!” Sherry felt her voice was a little tired.
Once she opened her mouth, her voice trembled along with it.
“William, are you all right?”
“Where are you, I came looking for you!” He said.
“I’m at Celia’s apartment!”
“Wait for me, I’ll be there in ten minutes!”
He seemed to be driving because Sherry heard the car siren.
“Okay, be careful on the road!” She instructed.
“Yes!” For some reason, she felt her voice was strange.
She felt as if something was going on with him. What exactly was it? Sherry grew uneasy.
Ten minutes later. William appeared in the apartment .
