Chapter 112:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
He waved the key in her hands and she suddenly blushed. Turns out he seemed to have forgotten her during their passionate kiss earlier.
Helplessly, she sat back down on the couch and he crouched down in front of her. His hands held her pale, tear-streaked face. He smiled looking at her tear-stained face, but this time there was no sarcasm, no mist, just pain.
“You’ve made yourself up!” She was stunned.
Sherry closed her eyes and took a breath.
His eyes were fixed on her. His eyes dark as deep wells that made people fall into them and be trapped forever. Those eyes were filled with deep affection.
“But you wasted it all while crying like a kitten.” He said softly, with a loving tone.
She looked at him stunned in disbelief.
Then he said angrily, “I wanted to waste it!”.
His tone was full of resentment, anger and despair.
She didn’t know that she sounded like a tantruming child, yet he raised his head and looked at her, “Okay, you wanted to. You can do whatever you want.”
“What are you doing here again?” She pouted, feeling rather shy at his soft tone.
“If I don’t come back, what if the bad guys come in tonight?” He raised his eyebrow. “Maybe someone already took the key and made a copy. They can open the door and get in especially to harass a weak woman like you.”
“Yeah, right!” Other than him, no one was going to come harass her.
“Sherry, don’t make me come out, okay? I’m really tired.” She looked up at him. Just looking at him could calm her heart.
His tone was pleading, making her heart ache. She sniffled, wanting to cry. How could she tell him to go away when his eyes were red and he looked haggard and thin.
“Go away, go to sleep.” He told her.
“So, will you let me stay?” her voice trembled, seemingly unable to believe it.
“You can go after you get a good night’s sleep.” She said lightly as she held back her emotions. Then she got up and headed for the bathroom.
“How come you’re always so rational, do you have to push me away?” shouted William desperately behind her.
“All I know is that you need to rest.” Sherry turned around and said in a whisper, “How long have you been without a good night’s rest?”

They looked at each other like that for a long time. William felt his heart was as desolate as a dessert at that moment, his eyes puffy and sore, as if he couldn’t bear the weight of the world.
“I don’t know!”
“Go to sleep.” She said.
“Okay, I’m going to sleep.”
Her eyes darkened. She lowered her head, melancholy crossing her face. Sherry walked into the bathroom, leaned against the door, buried her face in the crook of his arm and began to cry softly. She sobbed with helplessness and despair.
She was afraid of losing her mind, of becoming desperate and hysterical. She was afraid she would end up loving him even more, unable to let him go. He stood in front of the door. His sobs hurt and tore at her heart.
He knew it was all because of him and that her life was not good at all. Perhaps, he was really too selfish. She was thinking about whether coming tonight was right or wrong.
After crying quite a bit, Sherry filled the tub and began to bathe. She had to think it through, otherwise she wasn’t going to be able to face William. Sitting in the warm water, Sherry suddenly dunked her head into the water until a choking sensation ran through her body.
Then she raised her head again, the warm water slowly trickling down her cheeks.
Was Lucille going to get better? Even if she got better, but then discovered that William didn’t love her, was she going to trigger and get sick again? If everything came full circle, was William going to feel guilty about her for the rest of his life? Slipping slowly into the water again, Sherry closed her eyes, trying not to think about anything. But Lucille’s terrifying face appeared clearly in front of her closed eyes.
Half an hour later, William realized that Sherry still hadn’t come out and felt worried. He hurried to the bathroom door and opened it. In the thick steam, Sherry was calmly lying in the water with her eyes closed. It was impossible to tell if it was water or tears on her cheeks.
“Sherry!” William felt extreme anguish tugging at his heart.
He reached over, grabbed the towel from the side and picked Sherry’s body out of the cold water.
“William!” Sherry leaned quietly into his arms, but didn’t open her eyes.
She still didn’t know how to face him. After tomorrow, she was going back to Lucille! She had only thought about it, had let him go. However, he came back.
God knew she didn’t want to let him go. Now that she had let him go, she knew how heavy those simple words were-“let go.”
“Sherry!” William brought Sherry to the bed.
She looked like a porcelain doll in his arms. He hugged her limp-looking body tightly and stared anxiously at her gray, deathly pale face.
“Sherry, are you all right?” still silent.
William had never felt such panic. He didn’t say a word, he felt as if someone had plunged a knife deep into his heart making him unable to breathe.
“William, you know I am in love with you. But this love will only make me greedier and greedier. I won’t let you go; I won’t let you go anymore to bear your responsibility. I don’t care, what has the life or death of another person to do with me? You know that, if you entangle me like this you will only make me hysterical and unreasonable, don’t you? I don’t want to become that kind of person.” Sherry finally spoke, her voice was weak and soft.
William just hugged her tightly, wrapping his arms around her and looking lovingly at her pale face. She didn’t know that William’s eyes were burning with affection at this moment.
“I’ve already let go of you, but you’ve come back. You will make me resist letting you go.”
Tears fell silently from her closed eyes as she curved her lips into a sad smile. William released one of her hands and wiped away her tears. His large hand gently caressed her cheek. She loved him. At the thought, her sad heart that had just been ashes slowly came back to life.
“But William!” she paused, taking a deep breath and trying to calm her wounded heart, “You still have Lucille! Tell me, what do I do, what do I do?” if Sherry knew what to do, it wouldn’t be so painful. “That’s why I can only leave…”
William’s eyes strained, he suddenly pulled her close into his arms and leaned down to meet her lips. Sherry’s lips were suddenly covered by William’s soft lips, making her swallow all the words that were about to come out of her mouth.
She resisted and struggled, trying to push him back. But he locked her in his arms in a domineering manner, “Don’t leave me, don’t…don’t…”.
His deep voice echoed in her ears, the familiar smell of tobacco enveloped her, completely melting her resolute heart. Sherry felt as if an ocean was churning in her, as wave after wave of emotions hit her.
William’s slender fingers pinched her chin and lifted it slightly to leave her facing him. His handsome face was all she could see. His deep black eyes held a strange charm, enough to make her want to drown in them.
He said weakly, “I can find another way. Don’t leave me.”
Sherry’s eyes were open, but her expression was dazed and sleepy.
What other way, she thought. Her mind went back into a trance. Was there always another way? Always? Was she to believe him?
“Sherry!” William’s voice was too gentle and heartbreaking. Hot tears filled her eyes and they were about to fall.
Hearing him call out like that, the resentment, the aggravation, the anger, the despair, everything she felt in her heart turned to the deepest sadness and the most helpless grief.
“Go to sleep!” Seeing him like that, it seemed that, if she did not sleep now, she was going to really hurt herself.
He embraced her. Through her tear-filled eyes, her face seemed to be submerged in a pool of water, so distant and misty.
“Well, you too. You’re tired too.” She was surprised to see how bloodshot his eyes were.
Her heart ached under his teary gaze.
Seeing his teary eyes, she collapsed again. The strong, impenetrable barrier of his heart was flooded and destroyed by just two drops of tears. He took her hand, which felt light and soft lying weakly in his large hand.
She seemed to struggle, but then gave in again.
He watched her the whole time he held her, she lay there looking up at him with a sad, passive tenderness.
“Sherry.” She whispered, “I’m sorry!” He sighed and apologized countless times, his voice getting lower and lower.
After a while, he leaned against her neck and fell asleep.
She took a breath and gave him a look. She stared at him, her tears already dry and her expression concentrated.
He looked thin, haggard and lonely. The bags under his eyes were dark and heavy, with long lashes on his eyelids. His chin looked like it hadn’t been shaved for a few days, with stubble growing like wild weeds after the rain.
He was very tired because of the two women. Sherry and Lucille.
He used to be idolized by so many women, he thought.
If they knew he had such a strong sense of responsibility, he didn’t know if they would still rush to marry him.
He came looking for her and told her that his life was no good without her.
Lucille wasn’t tiring him, she was tiring her. But she was tired too.
They both loved each other, but she has no way to go on. If she could start over, she would rather not have known him. Let the innocent, happy William continue his life in the world and never meet Sammy.
As it was now, she knew the boy was in the Rowland Family and living a good life, but she was going to have to wait a long time before she could bring Sammy back. He was a member of the Rowland Family and Sherry’s son, but John Rowland was also a nice person.
What was she going to do? What she wanted to do was impossible – she couldn’t fail! It wrecked her, left her completely exhausted mentally and physically and her tears began to fall one by one.
William was already asleep; he didn’t know what was going on inside her at that moment. If it was possible, she wanted to leave, she really wanted to escape. Even if people called her an ostrich, she just wanted to bury her head in the sand instead of facing things….
The Rowland Family.
Dan and John were sitting on the couch.
Dan had been staring at John for a long time, not even blinking.
Continually looking at him like that, his eyes stung a little. Finally, he couldn’t help but say, “Mr. Rowland, have you changed your mind?”
“Dan, you haven’t beaten me.” John was still not blinking.
“Mr. Rowland, you’re rather boring, don’t you think it’s naive of me to play this unblinking game with you?” He said in an old-fashioned way, not admitting defeat.
“Me? Boring?” John was flabbergasted, “You’re the first person who’s ever dared to say that to me!”
“Mr. Rowland is so pitiful! Sammy is so pitiful!” Dan sighed.
