Chapter 119:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Before Sherry could say anything, Celia screamed again, “Aah! Another handsome boy! This boy is so handsome! Who is this?”
She thought to herself, Was this the boy she only saw once five years ago?
Celia glanced at Sherry, who nodded and said, “Celia, this is Samuel! My son…”
“Ah, so I have two sons! Come here, honey, I won’t be biased; they’ll both give me a kiss!” Celias said as she reached over to hug Samuel, and then left a red kiss mark on his face.
Samuel’s face immediately flushed and he turned to look at Sherry.
Sherry let out a laugh, “Samuel, this is Miss Celia!”.
“Oh, honey; I held you once when you were born. Other than the doctors, I was the first one to see you, even before your mother. Oh, come on, are you shy?” said Celia excitedly.
“Hello, Miss Celia!” Samuel finally spoke, but he still felt a little scared inside.
“Good boy!” Celia continued to hug him, then, with the two children still in hand, she noticed another tall figure in the room.
“Oh! Who’s that?” Keegan realized that this fashionable woman had barely noticed him a moment ago, and Sherry laughed.
“Celia, this is my co-worker, Keegan!”
After the introduction, Celia felt apologetic, “Sorry, I was so excited to see my godchildren that I didn’t notice you!”
“No worries!” Keegan didn’t care; he put the ingredients he had in the kitchen. “At ease; I’ll let you know when the food is ready!”
“Mr. Keegan, do you know how to cook?” asked Daniel.
“Of course!” said Keegan and nodded.
“Wow, that’s impressive!”
Celia noticed that Sherry’s eyes were red and asked in confusion, “Is she okay?”
“She’s not feeling well; the doctor said she needs more rest and recovery!” replied Keegan.
“Oh, I see; no wonder her face looks sick. I’ll help cook, the kids can go play, and Sherry, you go get some rest! I’ll help Keegan!”
“Will you now?” Sherry laughed, she knew Keegan was hopeless in the kitchen!
Celia frowned; she said quietly, “Hey, even if I’m not good at cooking, I have to pretend I am, right? I can help wash the vegetables or something. I can’t let our guest do all the work on his first visit, can I?”

“Hahah… Okay, you help Keegan, I’ll go to the room and rest!”
Sherry’s cell phone rang; it was William calling. Her face went pale for a second.
“Sherry, is that William?” Celia noticed the tension Sherry was feeling. “Is it really over between you two?”
“It’s okay! I’m fine, you go help Keegan!” Sherry said as she headed to her room.
She hung up the call and put her cell phone on the table.
William saw his call rejected; his hand squeezed the steering wheel until his knuckles turned white. A blanket of sadness shadowed his face, and as he tried to call again, he realized his hand was shaking.
Sherry’s cell phone rang again; this time she had to pick it up.
“Sherry, where are you, I’m coming to get you,” William said hurriedly.
“You have the wrong number! If you call this number again, I’ll change the number,” Sherry said quietly; there was a slight tremor in her tone.
“Sherry, will you at least tell me where you are? Someone said you went to get a hotel room with a man, is it true? I need to know.” She voiced everything that was going through her head.
But as soon as he said this, Sherry’s whole body froze in place. Get a hotel room? Get a hotel room with a man? She held a cup tightly in her hand and it took quite a bit of effort to bring it to her lips.
Although the water was quite hot, she felt only cold, so much so that her whole body was shivering.
“Sherry, are you really planning to sleep with another man?” William continued to ask shakily, “Are you planning to torture me like this?”
Sherry felt as if her heart had plunged into a bottomless abyss; she could only feel sweat forming on the back of her hand.
She put down the cup and gripped the table for support. Her heart was pounding with pain – who would tell her such a thing? But she was furious, angry that he didn’t believe in her integrity.
Why would he so easily believe anyone who said she’d gone to sleep with another man? If she were so fickle, maybe she wouldn’t feel so much pain.
His distrust of her made her feel as if she were in an ice closet.
As her heart continued to tremble, she replied coldly, “That’s it! I’m going to bed with another man! What’s that got to do with you, Mr. Rowland?”
Suddenly, there was no answer, only the sudden sound of an emergency brake screeching on the other end of the phone….
“William? William?” Sherry’s heart pounded, but there was no answer.
Then, there was only a beep;
The call went dead! Her blood stopped; Sherry was motionless, and as if the air in the room began to freeze, she began to shiver.
She called again, but there was no answer…..
“Sherry, what’s wrong?” Celia entered the room to check on her, only to see her running in panic.
“An accident; Celia, William might have an accident!” Sherry’s cold hands clasped Celia’s.
“What’s wrong?” Celia was startled. “A car accident, He’s been in a car accident!” Sherry heard the sound of screeching tires; it must have been a car accident.
“I’m going out, keep an eye on the kids!” Before she could explain further, Sherry was already out the door.
The blue Bugatti was parked right in the middle of one of the busiest intersections. A huge line of cars was backed up and honking their horns behind it, but William paid no attention.
William stayed still in his seat. It didn’t matter how many cars were lined up behind him, at that moment, he just felt as if his heart was hollow.
It was as if his consciousness ceased to exist too! Pain, struggle, sadness, hatred, regret, anxiety; a mixture of feelings surrounded him.
He felt as if he was falling into a bottomless abyss right now; not dying, but simply free falling without end. His internal organs felt as if they ached. As he wallowed in that painful moment, the only thing that came to his mind was that sweet, gentle face.
Right now, all he could think about was Sherry.
Right now, the painful grief he was experiencing was much stronger than the pain he felt when Lucille had betrayed him! It was much more painful times a hundred!
His phone kept ringing, but he didn’t pick it up. It was as if his soul had been snatched from him. He didn’t even have the sense left to answer the call, nor did he realize that the traffic police were headed his way.
His conscience was straining to make sense of it all, but it was as if everything was muddled; William couldn’t understand anything, and he felt as if every nerve ending screamed out in pain.
She said she was going to sleep with another man….
Don’t do it…
At the very thought of Sherry sleeping with another man, his heart felt as if it were being lashed by a whip….
Inside the cab, Sherry kept trying to reach William’s cell phone, but there was no answer.
Suddenly, it occurred to Sherry to call Liam: “Liam, William might be in a car accident, I can’t reach him…”
“Sherry! Don’t panic, I’m on my way to the traffic police right now. There was a small incident, but it’s no big deal, don’t worry, William is fine!”
“William’s okay?”
“They said he’s fine, but I have to go see for myself! Where are you now?”
“I’m going to the station too!” Sherry immediately asked the cab driver to turn around.
The first thing they saw when they arrived at the police station was the blue Bugatti in the impound yard.
“Where’s William?” asked Sherry in a daze.
The car was fine, but where was the driver?
Sherry had a sigh of relief, only to tense up again.
“Officer, where’s the driver?”
“William? William?” Liam realized William was still in the car.
He tapped on the car window, but William was still sitting in the driver’s seat.
He had a hollow look in his eyes, and his whole being looked like a statue.
“Sir, don’t bother; we knocked on the windows until our hands were numb, and he still wouldn’t open the door. We ran the license plate to get a contact number for your company. He was parked on one of the busiest streets, causing a traffic jam of over 300 cars. We suspect he is drunk and afraid of being stopped, that’s why he won’t open the door! There was nothing else we could do, so we towed his car here…”
“That’s impossible!” Liam said, “Why would he be drinking in the morning? It’s not even lunchtime, there’s no way he’s drinking!”
“I’ll go get him!” Sherry let out a sigh of relief and felt her heart ache.
This fool! To think he’d parked in the middle of the street.
“William Rowland, open the door! It’s Sherry!” she banged on the car window. William still didn’t respond, however.
Sherry continued, “William, if you don’t open up, I will never forgive you in this life, NEVER! Do you hear me?”
The officer sighed and asked, “Maybe he’s been through a breakup?”
“Good eye, officer; my friend just broke up, So that’s why he’s acting so abnormal!” explained Liam embarrassed.
“Still, he can’t block traffic! According to traffic laws, he should be punished and arrested for disturbing the public like this!”
“Uh, officer, a fine, just a fine is enough!” Liam tried to plead for leniency from the traffic officer.
“Fine, but only if we make sure he wasn’t driving drunk after he got out!”
Sherry was on the edge of her rope with her threats; still, William didn’t relent.
“William! William, open up…” He stepped up to the hood of the car so he could get a good look at the man inside.
William seemed to be in a daze; he was not regaining his senses at all. It was as if he was in a dream. Sherry looked at him from outside the car; she called his cell phone, but he still wasn’t moving.
His eyes stared into the air and completely ignored her. She felt like wrecking the car.
As she realized his current state, she felt an indescribable pain in her heart.
How could she leave him like this? Sherry began to cry; she had already lost count of how many times she had cried that very morning, and seeing his incapacitated state, she cried even harder, and her body began to wobble as if she was going to faint.
Liam managed to catch her in time.
“Sherry, it’s okay, it’s okay, don’t worry!”
“Liam!” Sherry was pale, and tears were streaming down her face, “It won’t open the door, it won’t open…”
“Let me try!” Liam stood in front of the hood of the car and waved his hands, “Will, open the door! Sherry’s crying, hurry up and open it! Open it!”
Suddenly realizing something, Sherry remembered the phone conversation she had had with William just before, about him sleeping with another man.
Could that be the reason she was like this?
Immediately, she stood up and walked over to the driver’s seat window, “William, that’s not true, I’m not with anyone, I haven’t slept with another man; open the door, will you?”
