Chapter 123:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Let go of me, sir!” Sherry tugged on his arm and said, “I said okay. I’m going to be late, sorry.” She continued to flag down the second cab.
“Where are you going? I’ll send her. Consider it compensation for soiling your clothes. I don’t like to be beholden to anyone.” Insisted the man.
“Ah, that’s not necessary! It’s okay,” Sherry said and looked at the man, “Sir, I’m really going to be late soon, I’m sorry!”
“Then let’s go!” The man insisted and grabbed Sherry’s hand. He led her to the Bugatti and said, “I’m sending you!”
He pushed Sherry into the passenger seat as she looked at him helplessly and wondered how this man could be so demanding.
He was as demanding as William! She felt amused and said, “Sir, you really don’t have to send me. I’ll take a cab.”

“Quiet!” the man said calmly. He started the car and asked, “Put your seat belt on, where do you want to go?”
She felt helpless and told him the address of the company. This man was terribly demanding.
At that moment, she received a message.
Sherry clutched her cell phone tightly, as if trying to get some comfort from the phone. She glanced at the message and it read:
[Sherry, why haven’t you responded to my message? I’m worried about you. Are you in the office yet? Answer me when you are in the office. Kisses, beautiful…]
She was stunned and blushed for a moment. She quickly replied:
[I’ll be there soon!]
Then she looked at him, who also turned to give her a glance. His pair of stern, deep-set eyes looked chillingly at Sherry.
She unconsciously shuddered and said, “Thank you, sir.”
The Bugatti driver was tall and haughty. What kind of apology was this? Was this goodwill for him to send her to the office? She felt as if she were sitting in the car of an enemy.
“Your name!” the man suddenly asked.
“Oh?” Sherry was startled and answered cautiously, “We’ve had a chance meeting. You don’t need to know my name. Thank you, sir, for sending me to work.”
The man raised his eyebrows and sneered, which made Sherry very uncomfortable.
She remained silent until they arrived at the company.
Once the car stopped, Sherry took off her seat belt and politely said, “Thank you, sir!”
Sherry was stunned as the man pulled into the company’s basement garage and parked the car.
“Sherry, do you know Reggie Kelly?” Keegan Fox had just arrived, saw that Sherry’s jacket was stained and looked at Reggie, who was approaching. He was surprised to see that Sherry had just gotten out of Reggie’s car.
“Reggie?” Sherry was flabbergasted and pointed to the man, “You know that man?”
“Yes, an old friend. We’ve done some business in the past.” said Keegan then to that man as he approached, “Reggie, when did you get back to the country?”
Reggie’s gaze fell on the stunned Sherry and he said nonchalantly, “I just got back!”.
“Do you two really know each other?” Sherry pointed at Reggie, then realized it was impolite to point at someone and quickly lowered her hand.
“I’ll make the introduction.” Keegan introduced them both.
Sherry hadn’t expected this arrogant Eurasian man to come to her office.
“Coffee’s ready!” Sherry poured the coffee in Keegan’s office, and Reggie was sitting on the couch.
Reggie’s expression changed when Sherry walked in. Sherry placed the coffee cups on the table and prepared to leave the office.
Reggie picked up the mug, took a sip and frowned. His eyes lit up and he unconsciously praised, “Ms. Murray, your coffee is fantastic!”.
“Oh, thank you!” Sherry smiled, “Keegan, I’ll get back to my work. Reggie, have a good day.”
As she left, Reggie glanced at the door and pondered.
“Reggie, how’s your wife, is she back with you?” Reggie scoffed at the word ‘wife’. He clutched his coffee cup and continued to ponder. “Are you okay with her staying alone in France?” Keegan puzzled.
…
“Sherry, your son is so cute! Next time bring him to my house.” said Cohen as he brought her a cup of coffee.
“Okay. Mr. Sutton, Dan is still young and says the dumbest things, please don’t be offended.” Sherry smiled.
“No, don’t say that. He’s very handsome.”
“So we’re agreed. This weekend I’ll have Keegan pick him up and go to my place for a couple of days.”
“But…”
“You can’t bear to leave him to me?” Cohen raised his eyebrows.
Sherry shook her head, “Mr. Sutton, you hardly get any rest and should relax on the weekends. Dan is still a child and can be quite annoying.”
“Sherry, don’t be so selfish. I don’t have any children and you should let me experience the joy of having a child at home.”
No child? So Cohen was really pitiful. Sherry nodded and said, “Okay, if Mr. Sutton isn’t afraid of me bothering you, then I’ll send him over the weekend.”
Cohen smiled radiantly and looked happier than sealing a deal.
“Let’s have lunch together at a decent restaurant! We’ll have a proper welcome for Reggie.”
“All right, Mr. Sutton. I won’t go but I’ll make reservations for you.” Sherry now knew that Reggie and Cohen were old friends.
Reggie chatted with Cohen for a while before going to Keegan’s office.
“Come with us, consider it part of your job!” said Cohen and laughed, “Reggie is cold and haughty, but he’s the same as Keegan. They are all good young men and very loyal. Don’t be put off by their haughtiness.”
“Erm.” Sherry nodded but felt uneasy.
Reggie wasn’t just cold and haughty because when she saw him, she got a frightening feeling.
“Okay,” he replied.
Sherry went back to her work and felt someone staring at her. She quickly raised her head and saw Reggie standing by the glass in the principal’s office. He was pacing in her direction and deep in thought. Even being separated by a pane of glass, she could see his sharp gaze and it sent a shiver down her spine.
Sherry made a reservation at the Waiting Restaurant.
When they arrived at the Waiting Restaurant, they waited to be seated at the entrance.
She saw Reggie pursing his lips as he glanced at the restaurant sign.
“Hmm, I’ve passed this restaurant many times, but this is the first time I’ve ever walked in.” Cohen gently raised his eyebrows and his eyes twinkled, “Looks like the name of the restaurant has a hidden message. I wonder who the boss is waiting for.”
His innocent phrase made Sherry’s heart skip a beat. Could it be that Mr. Sutton had known Susan and Leon were a couple for some time?
Damn it, she shouldn’t have booked here, how dumb was she?
Sherry watched Leon from a distance. She knew Sherry had made reservations and had left a good spot for them. Leon was surprised to see three men with Sherry.
“Sherry, I saved you the best table!”
“Thank you, Leon!” Sherry smiled and thanked Leon.
As soon as Cohen saw Leon, his eyes lit up and he said, “I didn’t expect the boss to be a handsome young man. His restaurant must attract a lot of young girls. Of course, they are more attracted to the boss.”
Leon laughed and replied, “Mr. Sutton has a great sense of humor!”
“Do I?” Cohen looked at the customers, it was clear that most of them were ladies, and said, “The reality is out in the open. Don’t be humble. Your restaurant is very artistic, I like it,” Cohen said deeply, while Leon remained quiet.
Sherry glanced at Leon. It seemed that Leon didn’t know the details between Mr. Sutton and Susan. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be so calm. But she couldn’t detect anything in Mr. Sutton’s demeanor either.
After showing them to their seats, Leon pulled Sherry aside and asked, “Sherry, why are you working at the Cohen Group? Everyone says Cohen is a womanizer. Don’t be fooled by him.”
Sherry smiled and shook her head, “Leon, Mr. Sutton has a great sense of humor. It’s not what the rumors outside are saying. He’s not going to touch the partners. Besides, I consider him my elder! Thank you for your concern. How are you doing lately?”
Leon sighed, “I can’t say I’m doing well, nor can I say I’m doing poorly. So… I’m neutral.”
He suddenly thought about the affair between Susan and Cohen.
Maybe Susan and Cohen had some undisclosed relationship. If that was the case, then he wasn’t sure how long Leon had to wait for Susan!
“Leon, quickly get a sister-in-law for Celia and me, so you won’t feel so lonely!” As soon as Sherry said that, he could see Leon’s face turn pale.
He replied awkwardly, “I don’t believe in marriages! I don’t want to get married. You can forget about having a sister-in-law. Go back to them, they are waiting for you to place their orders.” After saying this, Leon smiled and patted her on the shoulders, “Go away, you’ve lost a lot of weight and you should eat more!”
“Leon…”
“Go away!” Leon nodded and left.
Looking at his back, Sherry could detect a sense of loneliness and desolation. Her heart ached as she thought that it would be hard for Leon to finish with Susan.
“Reggie, how can you be comfortable with your wife being alone in France?” asked Cohen without a second thought.
Reggie’s hand shook as he held a cup of coffee, pursed his lips and said calmly, “We’re divorced.”
“Divorce?” Cohen and Keegan were both surprised and asked, “What happened?”
When Keegan asked Reggie about his wife, Reggie sighed and said nothing. He sensed something wasn’t right, but he didn’t expect them to divorce.
They were both very surprised by this news – Reggie was deeply in love with his wife!
“When did this happen?” Cohen saw that Reggie’s expression was bitter and realized he was telling the truth.
“A year!” Reggie said calmly, “It’s all in the past!”
“That long? When was the last time I went to France?”
“Kegan?” Cohen frowned.
“Last summer I went!” replied Keegan.
“Was it that long ago? How time flies!” muttered Cohen.
“Let’s not talk about it. Mr. Sutton, I’ll be back permanently this time. Let’s change the subject. Your business must be doing well lately.” Reggie’s expression returned to normal and he saw Sherry return to his desk. His eyes lit up slightly with a hint of excitement.
“Yeah, let’s not dwell on this!” said Cohen and glanced at Sherry, “Sherry, sit next to me!”
He gestured to Sherry and Sherry nodded, “Okay.”
She sat quietly next to Cohen, as she didn’t know what she should say.
“Miss, a glass of warm water please!” said Keegan to the waitress. The glass of warm water was poured, Keegan held it up to Sherry and said quietly, “You will drink warm water and should avoid all soft drinks!”
