Chapter 137:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“So, you admit that Sherry is my daughter?”
“No, no!” she cried anxiously. “I don’t know her!”
“That confirms it! How have you been these past few years?” Cohen Sutton lowered his voice. “I didn’t expect you to marry Payne Jones, but he’s a good catch, since he can provide you with a comfortable life!” His tone carried a complex emotion, as if mixed with a hint of sarcasm. “I got the answer I wanted, so thanks again, for helping me give birth to Sherry! Take care, Mrs. Jones, I won’t bother your life anymore! Goodbye.”
Sierra froze and only reacted when the living room door closed. She hurried after him, trying to stop him from disturbing Sherry. However, when she opened the door, Cohen was nowhere to be seen.
She stood by the door gaping, her heart fluttering. He muttered, “Why did you come back, why?”
Sherry saw Cohen early in the morning. Although she hadn’t seen him for only a day, Cohen looked much older than he had before. She was unable to tell what was so strange about him.
“Sherry, come into my office for a moment!” he said to Sherry as soon as he arrived at the company.
She entered his office.
“President, what can I do for you?”
Cohen lifted his head from behind his desk, his gaze to her was kind and gentle.
“Sherry, there really isn’t much. I’ve just realized that I’ve gotten old, AND I just want to chat with someone!”
“You’re not old at all!” Sherry laughed. “The president is considered to still be in his prime, How can he be considered old?”
“Sherry, is your boyfriend treating you well?” asked Cohen as he opened his mouth. “Uh! It seems a bit presumptuous of me to ask this, but you can take me as a simple old man who takes care of the newbies in the company! You’re such a kind and lovely girl, I just hope you’re happy and cheerful!”
Sherry froze and smiled reassuringly. “That’s fine, she’s really very kind to me!”
If she really hadn’t slept all the night before and had smoked three cartons of cigarettes in front of her house, she thought, William was actually treating her quite well. They just still needed more time and experience to strengthen their bond, as for their future, she really didn’t know what would happen.
“You looked confused,” Cohen saw a flash of bitterness in Sherry’s eyes, “Did something happen?”
Sherry remembered about Susan, Susan seemed to be in love with Leon, but Susan seemed to be in a relationship with Cohen.
She was a little confused.
She wanted to talk, but decided not to because she had no idea how to ask him about it. Aside from that, how could the president know Sierra? But it was obvious that he knew her because Sierra fainted as soon as she saw him. He had the impression that Sierra was someone who didn’t shed tears easily, let alone faint.
“What do you mean?” Cohen could tell she wanted to talk.

Sherry looked at Cohen with a concerned expression, “Chairman, how did you and Sierra meet?”
Cohen’s hand trembled as he squeezed it. “Sherry, why don’t you recognize her as your mother?”
Sherry bit her lips when asked about it, “She’s the one who disowned me!”.
She felt bitter saying that out loud. This was because the year her father died, Sierra abandoned both her and her little brother. Then she married into the Jones family and no longer cared for them. She once cried and begged Sierra to give her money to cure Luke’s illness. However, Sierra only gave her thirty thousand yuan.
She had no choice but to sell her old house, but she still couldn’t afford to pay Luke’s medical expenses. When she went to beg Sierra again, Sierra told her not to meet her again, she could not help them.
A woman who didn’t even care about her own son and daughter, it was better not to recognize this kind of mother!
“She disowned you?” Cohen frowned. “Is she really that kind of person?”
“My mother died a long time ago; she was already dead eight years ago!” Sherry said bitterly, “I canonically act like she’s dead!”
“How have you been living all these years?” Cohen’s hand shook even more, seeing Sherry’s attitude towards Sierra, he felt a throbbing pain in his heart, “Are you happy?”
Sherry was a little surprised, because Cohen seemed to be choosing his words very carefully. She felt a little confused why the president was giving her such a strange look. It was as if he was looking at a lost kitten, his eyes were full of compassion.
“President, don’t give me that pity look, I actually think I am very lucky! I am not a street child, I had a father and a brother who loved me. Although my brother died from congenital heart disease, we have depended on each other for years. I already think my life is quite enriching because I have people who love me as I love them.”
Cohen felt his heart break. “You’re really optimistic!”
“President, you sound just like my father!” Sherry smiled as she looked away.
She really missed her father, Hope he is happy living in heaven!
“But my father passed away many years ago!” Cohen stood up nervously, his emotions were becoming unstable.
“Sherry, I’m actually…”
He wanted to say he was her father! However, he couldn’t get the words out of his mouth. In the end, Cohen continued to say nothing.
He only told Sherry that he would invite her and Daniel to his house for the weekend. Sherry also accepted his invitation.
When her shift was over, Sherry left the office. At that same moment, she saw Keegan.
He looked at her from a distance, but stopped to say hello. Then he pretended not to see her and stepped into the elevator.
“Kee…” Sherry froze, not knowing what was wrong with Keegan.
Her smile remained on her face as she looked in the direction of the elevator suspiciously.
What’s wrong with Keegan, he didn’t even come to say hello? Sherry gaped at him for a brief moment.
By the time she exited the building, she heard her colleagues cry out from afar, “Wow, what a handsome man!”
“The president of the Rowland Group! He’s the president of the Rowland Group!”
“Are these flowers for Sherry?” Sherry took a few quick steps, looked up and saw William’s tall figure bathed in the glow of the setting, holding a bouquet of flowers in both hands, standing not far from the door of the building while wearing a suit.
Sherry was in shock, he was standing on the first floor of her company with flowers in his hands, what was she going to do?
She lifted her gaze to look at him, he was smiling at her. Perhaps because his face was turned towards the light, she couldn’t see his expression, her heart also began to beat faster.
She was stunned and looked away in fright, only to find Keegan’s car speeding away from the company parking lot like an arrow.
Sherry’s hand tightened and she walked toward it step by step. Behind her were her colleagues, who had been stunned by William.
William was smiling as he carried flowers in his hand. His eyes rested on her, gazing lovingly at her.
When Sherry was within three feet of him, he stopped dead in his tracks.
When their eyes finally met, her smile was shy, as she was getting nervous.
She was about to open her mouth when William said in a deep voice, “My wife, will you marry me?”
Sherry was stunned. Then, as she gaped, William knelt down on one knee while ignoring everyone’s gaze. He looked at Sherry affectionately, and said another sentence.
“My wife, please marry me! I promise you that from now on I will do everything I can to protect you, love you and make you happy. Thank you for smiling no matter what happened and for not blaming me. It was me who was careless and didn’t think about your feelings. From now on, I promise you that nothing will be more important to me than you, your feelings are my top priority and I will never hurt you again.”
“Wow, what a touching scene!” shouted someone in the background.
Sherry just felt her heart ache, one after another, painfully.
Without waiting for her response, William continued to kneel on one knee, his eyes pinned to his eyebrows.
“My wife, please forgive me! And please marry me!”
“Miss Sherry, quickly accept the flowers!” someone shouted as they saw she was shocked.
Sherry’s face immediately reddened and she whispered, “William, get up quickly!”
“You have to promise me first!” He blinked his coal-black eyes.
She took the flowers and reached out to pull him up, why did she have to do something so humiliating?
Instead of crying with joy, she felt so ashamed.
“William, you better get up quick, if you don’t get up, I won’t care about you anymore!” William stood up as he saw her take the flowers.
Sherry walked out with the flowers in her hand. She felt very embarrassed. She never thought William would do this, was he mentally ill? However, in her heart, she felt very happy. So, he thought of such a move after not sleeping all night, what a surprise.
Sherry came out with big steps while holding the flowers in her hand. The smell of the flower was very fragrant, he couldn’t help but smile. However, she acted as if nothing had happened.
“My wife, please wait for me, my car is parked here!”
William saw that she was about to walk past the car, but had no intention of getting into it. So, he ran to pull her in with one hand, while opening the door with the other. Next, he pulled Sherry into the car.
He also got into the car and drove away from the sight of the company’s co-workers.
In the car, Sherry held the flowers in her hands, but did not speak. Her eyes were not focused on William, but on the street scene in front of her.
As William drove the car and saw that she wasn’t saying a word, he couldn’t help but give her a glance. Her eyes were like glass, reflecting the scenery outside.
“My wife!” he suddenly shouted.
She was still silent. He pulled the car to the side of the road, annoyed. She took a deep breath and looked askance out of the corner of her eye.
However, he held the back of her neck, bent down slightly, moved closer and leaned down to rest on top of her.
His warm tongue slipped into her mouth and kissed her deeply. Then he hooked his tongue and swirled it in a tangle.
In the glow of dusk, her beautiful face was a blur, and she was no longer responsive. The flowers in her hand were carried by him to the back of the car at some point. However, his lips did not part from hers. Finally, she couldn’t help but close her eyes.
“Let’s get married, the wedding will be next week!” His starry eyes glittered as he looked at her while speaking in a deep voice.
What, what did he say, was he in such a hurry to marry her? She doubted he hadn’t thought it through.
His dazed little white face seemed lovely to her. Her two open lips, the pink lips that had just been kissed by him, looked so tempting that they seemed to be waiting for him to kiss her again.
He raised a smile as he looked down at her with a torchlight stare. Sherry was still gaping, unable to respond for a long time.
“My wife! I said let’s get married.” She finally reacted only after he shouted again in his deep voice.
As she slowly regained consciousness, his handsome face gave a wicked look before her eyes.
Sherry seemed to suddenly think of something as she frowned unconsciously, then bit her lips. Such a subtle action was caught by him. He began to get nervous, whenever she was like this, it meant he might be rejected, and his heart suddenly fluttered.
“My wife, don’t reject me!”
“I don’t want to marry you!” Her trembling voice spoke almost simultaneously with his.
“Why?” Her eyebrows raised, her eyes narrowed, and there was something of distaste that could be heard in her tone, “Sherry, you’re still blaming me!”
“I miss Sammy, I’m going to pick him up!” She changed the subject as her little hands wrung.
