Chapter 148:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Oh! I’m sorry, Mr. Sutton. You give the impression of being young. I really can’t imagine having a daughter Sherry’s age.” Celia looked at Cohen and he gave the impression of being about fifty.
Maybe not even fifty. Susan was very nervous and didn’t expect Sherry to be Cohen’s daughter. Cohen’s sharp look left her very unsettled.
Susan stood in the living room and lowered her head as she looked at the floor tiles.
“Miss Hickman has such a sense of humor. I’m an old man now.”
Cohen chuckled and turned to look at Susan, “Sherry’s waiting for you upstairs.”
“Okay! We’ll go up now.” Celia nodded and then gave Keegan a look.
Keegan pulled Celia up while Susan stayed where she was. He made it up to the second level before Celia turned and looked at Susan, “Sue…uh…”.
Before she could say anything, a hand covered her mouth and grabbed her to the side of the staircase the others couldn’t see.
She was stunned. The hand covering her mouth was very warm, strong and she knew it was Keegan. She quickly raised her head, looked into his dark eyes and heard him say softly, “I’m sorry, I can’t help it.”
Her face flushed and she grabbed his hand, but he didn’t loosen his and said, “Don’t scream and I’ll let go.”
Celia stared at Keegan and wondered what he wanted to do. When Keegan saw her wide eyes, he suddenly felt like laughing and released her, “Don’t scream, Sherry is in the second room.”
Celia turned around and could no longer see Susan.
Although she didn’t understand and doubted, her mind wasn’t thinking about Sherry. She was thinking only of Keegan, who was covering her mouth and blushing heavily.
“Go away quickly. I’m sorry about now,” Keegan said calmly. “Why can’t you say what you wanted, why do you have to grab me?” she said angrily.
She ran into the second room, slipped and fell. Her screams echoed down the hallway, but then she realized she felt no pain. Celia opened her eyes and realized she was between a pair of strong arms and her mouth was covered again.
She felt very warm and safe. Keegan took hold of Celia’s body, looked at her with a nervous expression and said, “Be careful!”
“Thank you!” She pulled out of Keegan’s embrace and Celia smiled as she looked at Keegan’s handsome face.
Then she headed for the second room.
Into the living room.

Susan stood like a child in the living room and reacted after a long moment, “I’ll…I’ll go see Sherry.”
“Okay!” Cohen frowned.
He didn’t ask her how she had a grown daughter. Susan bit her lips and didn’t even give Cohen a glance as she walked up the stairs.
Cohen felt uncomfortable and tight in the chest. He thought this woman was really composed. She had been with him for five years and now she was so sure of herself that she wouldn’t even look at him.
Cohan said calmly, “Why don’t you want that villa, where do you live now?”
…
He saw Sherry lying on the bed as soon as he pushed the door open to enter. Her children were on either side of her and were tapping her leg to help her relax.
The children were overjoyed to see Celia and called out to her.
“Aunt Celia, Aunt Celia, how are you?” said the children together.
“How are you, children, my precious children! Sherry, what’s wrong?” Celia was worried and Sherry was touched by her concern.
“Celia…”
Celia rushed over to hug Sherry, “It’s okay, it’s okay, as long as you’re okay. Why didn’t you tell me before, what if there’s no one to take care of you?”
“I’m fine now!” said Sherry softly, “I’m fine.”
“What’s wrong with that William, what has he done?” Celia began to get upset and continued, “Does he know what happened to you?”
“Daddy knew it was wrong!” said Sammy softly and gave Celia a careful look. “Aunt Celia, Daddy knows he’s wrong. Dad wanted Mom to forgive him but Mom ignored him. Dad is very pitiful.”
“Your dad is pitiful?” Celia raised her eyebrows and gave Sammy a look, “He’s not the one who’s pitiful. Why would he be pitiful? Now you’re taking your father’s side because you’ve spent so much time with him?”
Sammy pouted and lowered his head, “No, I just want Dad and Mom to be together. Dad won’t make a mistake again in the future. Teacher said as long as you turned over a new leaf you’d be a good boy. Since Dad has admitted his mistake, then Mom should forgive Dad.”
When Sherry heard what Sammy said, her heart began to ache. She clung to Sammy’s body.
This child had grown up with William and would be close to William. But she was very glad that the boy felt sorry for William. Both of her sons were very kind and gentle young men.
“Sammy… my precious boy,” Sherry commented.
Sammy hugged Sherry and said, “Mommy, Sammy misses Daddy! Forgive Daddy, okay?”
“You’re annoying!” said naughty Dan, “Sammy, if you miss your daddy, then go home with him. I’ll take care of Mom on my own.”
Once Sammy heard that Dan wanted to get rid of him, he quickly became quiet and said, “I don’t miss daddy now, don’t push me away.”
“Yeah, why do you miss him?” Celia said angrily, “He had caused your mother pain. Don’t think of him, honey, think of Aunt Celia. Come and give to beautiful Aunt Celia, my precious handsome boys. You must always think of me.”
“But it’s my daddy. I miss Aunt Celia, too. But Aunt Celia is not my daddy.” Sammy was suddenly emboldened.
“If Aunt Celia is a man, I’ll be your daddy. But too bad she’s not.” Celia joked.
“It’s okay, don’t scare him. Sammy is more reserved.” Sherry hugged Sammy and comforted him.
Susan walked in and saw Sherry hugging Sammy. The tender, loving scene made her touch her belly.
How nice it was to have a child. She too had hoped to have a baby and to always be by his side even if she couldn’t get married.
“Susan?” Sherry looked up and couldn’t believe she was there.
Susan smiled and said, “Sherry, are you okay?”
“What brings you here?” asked Sherry.
“I ran into Celia and came with her,” Susan replied.
Sherry suddenly remembered seeing Cohen kiss Susan when they were in Japan. So she was puzzled about their relationship. But she said no more because Celia was present. Susan and Celia kept comforting Sherry so she wouldn’t get upset.
She was still young and could have more children.
Then Susan said, “Sherry, actually William is a good person. Ground him for a while and get over this. Some things will be lost forever if you don’t appreciate them.”
Suddenly there was a commotion outside the villa even though it was after eleven o’clock at night.
“What’s going on?” Celia frowned.
“Sherry! It’s William, I want to see you!” shouted William from outside.
“Ah! Why did you come?” Sherry was stunned.
“Hmm, that’s better, at least he’s here.” Celia laughed, “He seems to value this relationship. I’m going to see if William’s expression is as eager as before. Heh, heh, heh…”
Suddenly, they could hear gunshots. They were stunned and Sherry was terrified, “Why are they shooting? I have to take a look.”
Keegan ran to the door and said, “Dad said he wasn’t going to kill him and was just shooting to get him to go away. Sherry, don’t come down.”
Sherry lay back down on the bed when she heard that it was just to scare William. Susan sighed and shook her head, “William shouldn’t offend Cohen!”
“I want to see Dad!” Sammy already ran out.
“I want to see him too!” Celia led Dan out and downstairs.
To think that Cohen had thought of shooting to scare William away, Celia was impressed by Cohen and ran excitedly downstairs.
“Sherry, I’ll come and see you again. Get a good rest and take care of yourself,” William shouted again.
Sherry was relieved to hear his voice, which meant he was unharmed.
Susan laughed, “He’s really in love!”
“Susan!” Sherry shouted.
“Yes?”
“You and Cohen?…” Sherry asked.
“He’s your father!” Susan laughed and said.
“I know, as surprised as I am to find my biological father, I also know he wasn’t lying. Susan, what is your relationship with him?”
“We are no longer in a relationship!” said Susan calmly and her expression was very neutral. Yes, they were no longer together. She continued, “Sherry, get a good night’s rest and don’t be too hard on yourself.”
“I will!” Sherry hesitated and couldn’t say more, “Susan, you don’t look well, have you been too tired lately?”
Susan smiled, “Yes, I’ve been pretty tired lately. I think I need to get some rest before I go back to work.”
“Sherry, I’m not giving up!” William’s voice was heard again. Sherry and Susan were startled.
Susan looked out the window, “Do you want to take a look?”
Sherry pulled off her blanket, got off the bed and walked over to the window. She looked out onto the patio and saw William standing under the street lamp as he looked up to the second floor while shouting, “Sherry, I said I won’t give up and I’ll get you to forgive me!”
Sherry stood by the window and stood quietly as she gave him a look.
“Aren’t you coming down?” asked Susan.
“No!” Sherry shook her head.
Susan said nothing more and worried about William. It seemed like it would take longer to get Sherry to forgive him.
…
Twenty-five days later.
It was Christmas and Sherry had already stayed at the Suttons’ for a month.
Dan and Sammy were also staying with the Sutton family and William went every day, but was increasingly escorted by bodyguards.
Each day Sherry was able to see William and receive his messages. Thus, she felt the time pass quickly.
He would write:
[Sherry, I miss you!]
[Sherry, I can’t be without you!]
[Sherry, I’m going crazy!]
[Sherry, don’t touch the cold water; don’t stand by the window; don’t be angry; a woman’s delivery must be done properly; I really want to be by your side; give me a chance; tell your father not to send me away.]
[I’ll go crazy if you don’t let me see you. Please let me take a look at you. Just one look, okay? Please!]
[Sherry, please answer my messages!]
