Chapter 154:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Or maybe we were wrong!” Sherry didn’t want to jump to conclusions.
At the same time, she also feared it was the truth. What would she tell Celia if it were all true? Her expression turned bitter at the thought.
William felt sorry for her and hugged her tightly, “Okay, stop thinking about it. You need to stay calm. Leave everything in my hands.”
“Leave it in your hands? Can you convince Leon and Sue to make peace?” she said sternly.
He didn’t mind her harsh tone and said, “I don’t know. But first I have to find out Sue and father-in-law’s relationship, then only I can decide what to do!”
“I guess that’s all we can do for now!” Sherry sighed. Then she noticed her bag and picked it up.
“I’ve had your bag with me for a while now, it was sitting in my car the whole time. I feel like you’re with me every time I take a look at the bag. Sherry. I was miserable without you by my side,” she earnestly told him her thoughts.
“You didn’t open my purse?” it seemed like she hadn’t.
“No! It was your privacy, I couldn’t just invade it like that!” he said.
Sherry smiled bitterly. If that was the case, the album should still be in the bag! He opened the bag and took out the album. She put it in front of him.
“What’s that?” he asked as he arched an eyebrow.
“Pictures of you and Miss Mclean. Please give it back to Miss Mclean,” Sherry said calmly.
As time passed, Sherry felt that she didn’t care about the photos as much as she used to. Time had passed and Sherry understood the meaning behind the saying ‘time heals all wounds’.
She was now as calm as ever. But William was not: “Shit, when did he give this to you?”
“I saw this album first, I saw this before I saw the one in your apartment!” said Sherry bluntly.
William knew he was finished. He felt scared as he heard her cold, emotionless tone of voice, “Sherry, I’ll destroy them right now!” Then he pulled out a lighter and headed for the bathroom.
“No need!” said Sherry bluntly, “Just give it back to Miss Mclean! It belonged to her and she should be the one making the decisions about what to do with it!”
“No! I’ve already burned the ones in the apartment – I don’t want them to exist!” she said stubbornly.
“But William, so what if you burn it?” Sherry sighed and said calmly, “Memories are not something you can get rid of so easily. You have a complicated past with her, AND you almost got married! For all these years, no one could be a part of your relationship! But for me now, it’s just a photo album! I have my past too. For example, I fell in love with the boy who was good at basketball in school, but that was in the past! No one should dismiss anyone’s past, we should accept each other’s!”
Suddenly William hugged her tightly, his heart pounding, “Sherry, have you fallen in love with someone else?”
Sherry nodded, “Yes, doesn’t everyone have one as a teenager? I still remember how cute that basketball guy was. He was probably the same height as you. I think I picked up the ball for him once. But I was too far away and couldn’t get a good look at his face.”

“Who is it?” Feelings of jealousy and sadness welled up in William, even though it was only a crush from long ago.
“I don’t remember his name!” Sherry shook her head, “I was very young, about 13 or 14, I think. It was a wonderful memory.”
“Sherry!” he growled. Why couldn’t he accept the fact that she had a teenage crush back then, when she was young and naive, and couldn’t even remember his name? Why was it driving him crazy?
Sherry turned her head and looked at him, “The past is in the past. I’ve been through a lot and I know I have to stay open minded to be happy. So we shouldn’t get caught up in the past and we should try to move on.”
“I don’t care, I’m still going to burn this!” He went into the bathroom and lit the lighter.
The album burned and there was nothing left. He wasn’t heartless, he just wanted to destroy and forget everything! The house was then filled with the smell of burning plastic.
Sherry gagged and coughed. William watched the disc burn to a crisp and flushed the ashes into the toilet bowl. He flushed the toilet. He came out and saw that Sherry was having a coughing fit, “Sherry, let’s go out. We’ll be back after we air out the room.”
Sherry sighed and left the room. Such an unnecessary thing to do. He was so careful and yet so clumsy. Was this really the stern and resolute Mr. Rowland she knew from before? She gaped at him.
…
Sherry frowned as she gave him a glance, he looked unhappy. She felt annoyed, why could he be unhappy?
“William, everyone has their past. I didn’t mind you living with Miss Mclean before, But now you’re depressed just because I fell in love with a guy whose name I don’t even remember? You’re a scoundrel!”
“Sherry, I’m not a scoundrel!” he snarled.
Sherry’s calm, serene eyes met William’s gaze. She reached up and pulled away from his hand that was grasping hers, “Don’t touch me.”
“Sherry, I don’t mean it,” he grabbed her hand again. He pressed his large body hard onto her and she was pinned between him and the bed, “I’m just uncomfortable that you had a crush earlier.”
“William, then you should be thankful I wasn’t wild in the past. My chastity was still protected when I met you, but what about you?” William had many sexual relationships with many different women in the past, she should be the one who was uncomfortable.
“Sherry, I’m sorry!” he growled. He knew she was right. Compared to her, he was the most unpleasant. “It’s okay! Just promise me you won’t think about him anymore.”
Sherry shook her head, “Why should I, you couldn’t forget Miss Mclean either! Stop telling me what to do, I hate it!”
“Sherry!” said William as he hugged her, “You’re mine, I want you to think only of me!”
“You don’t love me, you’re obsessed!” she said.
“I love you!”
“No, you only love yourself!” she said.
“Sherry!” he was still hugging her tightly. She wanted to break free, but he strengthened his grip. She got up. William took the opportunity to lie down next to her. He held her hand tightly and said earnestly, “Sherry, love is selfish. But I no longer think of anyone but you, will you do the same for me too?”.
Hearing that, Sherry felt a strange, sad feeling run through her heart. Sherry stared at him, he was so obsessed. She felt scared and helpless.
“Please” He looked at her.
He couldn’t help himself and wanted to kiss her. The moment he moved closer, Sherry turned her head. William’s kiss rested on her cheeks and Sherry reluctantly closed her eyes as his thin, cool lips touched her cheek, “I’m tired. Go away.”
“All right, go to sleep! I won’t disturb you!” he said. He was dejected, she would no longer let him into her heart.
“I’m not leaving!” she whispered next to his ears.
His warm breath made Sherry shiver. Her soft, supple earlobes made William’s heart pound. Mi4rda, he got a hard-on! He grunted and wanted to punch himself, “Okay, you should sleep. I’ll go downstairs.”
In the evening, the Sutton family was cheerful. The two children came home from school.
Sherry wanted to go take a shower after dinner. She still smelled of smoke from William’s morning action and felt uncomfortable.
“Mom, I’ll be at the door watching you!” volunteered Dan.
He stepped in front of William, not letting him near Sherry.
“Sherry, I’ll get your clothes!”
“No need, I’ll get Mom’s clothes!” Dan didn’t even look at William.
William’s face darkened, but Dan was still vigilantly standing in front of the door.
“Hey, kid, I’m your mother’s man. This is my job.” William bristled, Dan was his born nemesis.
Dan sneered and raised his head, “I’d rather Mr. Fox go after Mom than you. Stop threatening me.”
“What, did Keegan slip you some candy or something?” William blinked and met Dan’s protective eyes. Then William had an idea, “Dan, but your mom doesn’t like Mr. Fox. Your mommy will be mad and won’t like you anymore if you convince Mr. Fox to come after your mommy.”
“Hmph! That wouldn’t happen!” Who was she trying to kid? Her mother wasn’t so heartless. “Mommy, you wouldn’t hate me, would you?”
Dan reached over and took Sherry’s hand. His expression went from provocative to meek, his puppy dog face tugged at everyone’s heartstrings, “Mom, don’t you like me anymore?”
“How could I? I don’t want anyone but you,” Sherry said. She gave him a peck on the cheek and said, “Good boy. Guard the door and don’t let anyone in. I’m going to take a shower now.”
“Yes! Go ahead, Mommy!” Dan looked at William smugly.
“You! When are you going to stop blocking my advances,” William said coldly. He quickly walked over to Dan and pulled him up. Dan gaped at him and William obligingly threatened, “I’ll send you to Africa and you’ll be food for the lions!”.
“I dare you!” said Dan, “Mom will hate your guts and you won’t be able to marry her!”
This bastard! William’s face grew darker, he was very angry with the boy.
“Mr. Rowland, tonight I’m going to sleep with Sammy and Mama. You are not welcome here, please come back!” said Dan as he touched William’s shoulder as if he was comforting him.
“You are my nemesis, did heaven send you here to punish me?” William frowned as he tapped the small hand touching him on the shoulder.
“Are you afraid of me?” said Dan with satisfaction.
“Yes, yes I am!” William set Dan down. Suddenly, his phone rang. “Alexis, what’s up?” he said as he picked up the call. Alexis was talking on the other end of the phone and the wrinkles between William’s brows were getting deeper and deeper. He glanced toward the bathroom door and another murky idea occurred to him. He hung up the call and glared at Dan, “Hey, kid. Your mother’s not sleeping with you tonight.”
“Why?”
“Because she needs my ample bosom for love support. You’re too small,” William said.
When Sherry came out of the shower, she had to pull Dan out after hearing William say, “Sherry, Sue and your father had an affair!”
Dan protested as he was being pushed out of the room, “Mom, you promised to sleep with us!”
“Be a good boy, this matter is urgent!” said Sherry as she closed the door.
There were now only two people in the room. Sherry said in surprise, “Is it real?”
William dried his hair with a towel and said, “Alexis’ information is reliable. Sue was my father-in-law’s mistress for five years.”
“What!” Sherry shivered and felt cold all over her body.
“There’s one more thing, please don’t be too surprised after hearing that!” said William.
“What?” she didn’t think she could take another piece of shocking news.
