Chapter 173:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“No! I committed an intentional assault, but the person didn’t die!” said Sierra clearly, “The person is still in the first room on the left on the second floor. Go take a look! Ashley, I made this for your father, I’m sure he’ll like it!” everyone turned their gaze to the plate, which had a piece of meat on it.
It was a short, shrunken piece of meat from frying. No one could tell what the meat was. The police went up to the second floor and found Payne lying on the bed in the bedroom.
His white pants were covered in blood and there was even more blood between his legs. There was a pair of bloody scissors on the floor. Sierra also came upstairs, she noticed that everyone was looking at her with an expression of surprise and suspicion.
She said nonchalantly, “Yes! I cut it and made it into two plates. two single plates! Hahaha…”
…
Sherry suddenly received a call from Leon. He was with the Sutton Family and they were about to have dinner together when he suddenly got the call.
“Sherry, come to the Jones Family house right now!” said Leon in an unusually low voice.
“The Jones Family?” Sherry was taken aback. “Leon, I…”
She wanted to tell him she wasn’t going, but Leon quickly interrupted her, “Sherry, your mother is dead! Ashley said you should come right now no matter what.”
Sherry felt a sudden buzzing in her head, and she was in shock. She didn’t hear what Leon said after that.
“What happened?” William picked up Sherry’s phone and asked worriedly, “Leon, it’s William. what happened?”
“Sherry is dead!” repeated Leon, “Decide if you want Sherry to come see her mother one last time. Ashley told me to let Sherry know and that’s all I can say. You decide whether you come or not.”
After half an hour.
William took Sherry to the Jones Family. The police were also on the scene. The servants and bodyguards all had stern, emotionless expressions on their faces!
Leon’s words kept repeating in Sherry’s mind, “Your mother died…. Your mother died…”
She walked into the living room and saw two bodies on two gurneys on the floor. Both bodies had a white cloth over their faces.
Ashley was curled up in a ball on the couch. Leon was comforting her as she sobbed quietly. She was pushing Leon’s hand away and refusing his caresses.
The butler then said, “Miss Jones, Miss Murray and Mr. Rowland are here!”.
Ashley stopped crying. She raised her head and glanced at Sherry, her face was streaked with tears.

She stood up and staggered as she ran to Sherry, “Sherry, I’m sorry…”
Sherry was still in shock. She felt a shiver run down her spine.
“Sherry, Sierra was shot to death by my father. I couldn’t protect her…. She put up with my father’s sabotage all these years. It’s all our fault, the Jones Family owes her a big apology…” Sherry was in no mood to listen to Ashley.
She tried to stay quiet and quietly asked, “Which one is she?”
William had already heard Leon’s story. Sierra drugged Payne and cut off his p4lla when he was unconscious. Then she cooked him on two plates.
When Payne regained consciousness, he discovered what had happened to him and shot Sierra when the police were not paying attention. He then killed himself with the same gun.
Ashley removed one of the white cloths and revealed Sierra’s face. Her face gave the impression of being calm and serene, as if she was glad to finally be put out of her misery.
Sherry felt tears welling up in her eyes, but her tears did not fall. She just stared at her mother in silence. She stared at the person who had given birth to her.
At that moment, she realized that Sierra might have had a sad life. Thinking back, Sierra rarely smiled. Maybe she never loved Clark. That was probably why he remarried, left her and her brother uncared for. Or maybe she was just being selfish! But all the hate should disappear along with the end of her mother’s life!
Sherry took a deep breath and held back tears. She took another glance at her mother’s face and said bitterly, “William, let’s go!”
“Sherry?”, Ashley asked quietly, “Where should we bury Sierra?”.
Sherry shook her head and gave Sierra a complicated look, “I don’t know. She was with the Jones Family, so I don’t get to decide!”
Sherry straightened her back and clenched her fist tightly. Then she walked out of the place.
William followed her worriedly. As if he had made up his mind, he didn’t take a single turn back.
He muttered under his breath, “Mama, rest in peace!”
Her tears fell like rain the moment she left the room. She sobbed without making a sound.
William hugged her silently. He carried her and Sherry buried her face in his chest. William sighed. They drove away from the Jones Family home. William parked the car next to the road. Sherry sat quietly in the passenger seat. Her tears wouldn’t stop falling, but she was still sobbing quietly.
“Sherry…” William tried to reach out to wipe away her tears.
Sherry raised her head. Her jet black hair clung to her face and her eyes were already puffy. She tried to stop herself from crying, but it was no use. Then she looked helplessly at William and asked quietly, “William, I hated her. But why do I feel so sad about her death?”
William shrank back and was surprised at the question. He reached out, drew her to him and clasped her in his arms. He tapped her back lightly and said, “Sherry, it’s because she was your mother. She brought you into this world. It’s okay to be sad.”
Sherry bit her lips and couldn’t hold back any longer. She cried loudly like a little girl.
In the Sutton Family study room.
Susan carried a cup of tea into the room and placed it on Cohen’s desk. He was smoking, but put out the cigarettes as soon as Susan walked in. He didn’t want her and her son inhaling secondhand smoke. Then he went to the window and went to open it.
“No need to! I’ll leave after I put the tea down,” Susan said when she realized she was about to open the window.
“Oh!” Her hand paused in midair, in the end she didn’t open the window. As Susan approached the door, she stopped suddenly and said, “You should go see her one last time!”
“Who?” said Cohen as he gave Susan a look.
“Sherry’s mother!” He had to know who she meant. Or maybe he was still trying to deny the truth.
“I know you think about her all these years and that she holds a special place in your heart!” Cohen looked a little surprised. He stared at Susan, who was standing by the door. Susan turned and smiled, “Don’t look at me like that. I’ve known all along. Sierra was your first love, wasn’t she?”.
Cohan looked at Susan in silence. He was quiet and reticent. As Susan was about to leave, he said, “I did something horrible to her!”
“What?”
“I raped her and forced her to have an abortion afterwards…”
Sherry was now calmer after crying her eyes out. William sat down next to her and held her hand. Sherry felt much warmer as his large palm warmed her cold hands.
“William, you’re the only one I have now,” Sherry murmured.
Her quiet voice sounded determined. She hugged William tightly and felt the hole in her lonely heart fill for the first time in a long time.
“Yes, I’ll be with you always!” said William as he nodded.
Sierra died on Christmas Day. She was buried three days later. She and Payne were buried together in the cemetery where Ashley’s mother was buried. Both buried together.
Ashley seemed to have matured overnight. There was no longer any hint of childishness in her face. She seemed more mature and that was worrisome.
…
Sherry got sick! She had a fever the night after they returned from the Jones Family. She was raving and talking without sleep. William touched her worried face and realized she had a very high fever.
“Mom…,” she muttered under her breath.
William put a cold washcloth on her forehead and held her hand. He sighed and whispered lovingly in her ear, “I know you must be sad. After all, she was your mother! But she was finally released from torture and died peacefully. So don’t be so sad.”
Sherry’s lips trembled as she murmured, “I don’t…for her to die…” Her voice was soft and so William had to lower his head to listen. He brought his ears close to her mouth and heard her say, “William…. I don’t want her to die…” His heart shuddered.
She was mumbling to herself in such a conflicted way. She felt a sharp pain in her heart and felt like she was suffocating.
“Sherry, I know, I know! I know how you feel.” Sherry was sick for three days and her fever did not break. She was unable to attend the funeral. After the funeral, Ashley asked Sherry out.
“Sherry! Can we get along like sisters from now on?” asked Ashley as she looked at Sherry beaming with joy.
She noticed that Sherry’s face was very pale. Sherry cared a lot about Sierra, no matter what she said. Ashley’s face was pale at first, but it became even paler than before. Sherry also noticed that Ashley was thinner than before, and her cheeks were sunken. Her eyelashes were trying to disguise the tiredness and anxiety in her eyes.
She’d had a hard time in the last few days. She had been born with a silver spoon and had never had a bad time. But she had to organize the funeral and call a press conference by herself. She had to set the story straight about her parents’ death and quell the rumor that her father had been castrated by Sierra.
After all, Sherry felt she knew Ashley better now. If it weren’t for Sierra, Payne would still be alive. But Ashley didn’t blame Sierra at all; she was sad that Sierra had had to go through so much all these years because of her father.
It was the Jones Family that was wrong. Sherry nodded her head looking at Ashley’s grieving face, “I’m your sister from now on. Promise me you’ll take good care of yourself.”
Sherry didn’t know why, but tears welled up in her eyes. She thought of the day she lost Luke. She was like Ashley, helpless and thirsty for family love. She could understand all too well how Ashley felt right now.
She reached out her hand and gripped Ashley’s tightly. They were in a coffee shop. Ashley pulled out a document and placed it in front of Sherry, “Sherry, this is 25% of the Jones Family share. I’m giving it to you on behalf of Sierra.”
Sherry gasped, she didn’t think Ashley was going to give her a gift of stock, “No, I don’t want it!”.
“Sherry, can’t you forgive Sierra?” Ashley couldn’t understand.
“No! Ashley, thank you. I know you’re trying to be considerate, but I really don’t need this.”
“Sherry, this is our compensation. My father hurt you and made your life miserable. I want to apologize to you on behalf of my father and Sierra. sherry, please take it!”
