Chapter 201:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Sherry, we will surely get our son back…” Although he himself had no idea, he was never one to give in to hardship.
He believed that everything would be all right.
“I’ll get someone to come get blood samples! Sherry, don’t show your emotions in front of Sammy no matter what, okay? He’s still a kid, let’s not hurt him before we’re sure what’s going on!” Sherry’s head was shaking.
She could only vaguely hear him and nodded her head instinctively.
William felt bad to see her like this.
“Sherry, did you hear what I said?” Sherry came to and glanced at William with a distressed expression.

“William, what about our son, what should I do?” her body weakened and fell after asking that question.
He had lost all his strength, as if his soul had been sucked out of his body.
“Sherry!” William rushed to grab her.
Giving a glance at her wailing face, he felt the same as she did. He empathized with the pain she felt. She was as helpless and sad as if she were a rigged doll. He carried her and laid her gently on the bed.
“Sherry…” He was about to comfort her when she began to cry. “My baby girl…”
She cried aloud. But her words turned to moans before she could finish her sentence. The room was especially quiet. All that remained were the sounds of her helpless moaning and William’s gasps. William sighed deeply and glanced at Sherry.
His gaze then shifted to his own hands, which were clenched into a fist. This was all her fault, why was he always hurting her? Even though it was never his intention, and he was never aware, but he hurt her deeply every time.
“Sherry, I’ll get our son back!” he said softly with a steady look in his deep eyes.
She went over in her mind everything that had happened, “I’ll find him no matter what!”.
Sherry’s heart pounded as she heard the almost whispering whisper next to her ear. She turned around, looked at William, and finally realized how pale his face was. He was so pale she could see the veins in his face.
He must be in pain too. He too must be in great pain, knowing that the child she had held by her side for so many years was not his, and having no idea where her own son was. How could she have neglected that he too was grieving just because she herself was grieving? She sat up, wiped the tears from her own face and gave him a look.
She felt guilty.
“I’m sorry, William. I was caught up in my own emotions and was unaware of your feelings. I’m sorry…” He felt even more sorry to hear her comment.
“Sherry, I will get our son back, believe me!”
Sherry sobbed again. Clenching her hands in silence, she turned back to William with a tear blurred look in her eyes. He bit his lip and nodded.
“I believe in you. We will get our son back.”
“Don’t cry, silly girl.” he said grimly as he looked at Sherry.
He drew her back into his embrace and hugged her as tightly as if he would never let go.
“Thank you for believing in me!”
Sherry hugged him back. “I know you’ll get our son back, William, I believe in you! Because you’re the best.”
So much had happened in the last few days and she couldn’t be of any help to him. Seeing him so exhausted, her heart pounded.
She shouldn’t just worry about her own feelings. They were in this together, they should be there to support and comfort each other no matter what.
“Silly girl.” William sighed as he hugged Sherry tightly. He ran his fingers through her silky hair. “I’ll make the call right now to make the confirmation!”
He was touched that Sherry could pull herself together and stay sane at this moment. He was grateful to have her in his life-this was all he needed! He called the doctor. He thought what mattered right now was to confirm Sammy’s identity, whether he was Liam and Sarah’s son.
As she watched William handle the situation, Sherry hoped that Sammy was her own son while she felt bad for Liam and Sarah.
As it turned out, Sarah also had a son. She may have been hurt more by the fact that she had thought her son was dead all these years. This kind of mental torture was an ordeal for anyone. She had hoped Sammy was her son, but what about her own son?
She buried herself in William’s arms and closed her eyes helplessly as tears rolled down her cheeks. “He really should go to hell.”
It was causing her so much pain. She had lived five years that she would rather not have the child, and now that they were finally together, the child wasn’t even hers!
“No!” Sherry shook her head and put her finger to his lips.
“It’s not your fault, William, We’re going to check on Sammy and the others! The doctor’s coming, isn’t he?”
“Thanks for being rational!” He took her hand, “Let’s go!”
Sherry arrived in the playroom and saw Sarah sobbing. She wanted to go over to her but hesitated. She couldn’t help herself and cried again.
Sammy was curled up in Liam’s arms, playing.
Sherry suddenly felt suddenly warm and sorry.
“Sarah!” called Sherry to Sarah in a low voice.
Sarah lifted her head, saw Sherry and William. She could see that Sherry already knew the truth by his facial expression.
She stood up and walked over to Sherry.
“Sherry, I…”
“It’s okay!” Sherry hugged her, “I understand. I know how you feel.”
At this moment, they were the people who understood each other best. They were both mothers who had lost their child. Only they knew how the other person felt.
The doctor arrived.
William called Liam and Sarah. They left the room, leaving Sherry inside with Sammy.
William told them, “I asked the doctor to take some blood samples to identify if Sammy is your son. Once the result comes out, no matter what it is, let’s avoid hurting the child!”
“Will…” Liam nodded his head as he patted Williams’ shoulder.
“We’ll put the child as our first priority. And, thank you! I’m going to call my dad.” Sherry kept Sammy company.
She had mixed feelings looking at him. “Mommy, you look like you’re crying. Aunt Sarah looked like she was crying just now, too. What’s wrong?” asked Sammy, confused, and stopped playing with the toys.
“No, I didn’t cry. It’s just something in my eye.”
Sherry was quick to deny it.
Sammy didn’t seem to believe it and gave her a look, puzzled. Sherry returned his gaze. She scrutinized his features. Her thick eyebrows, large eyes and curled lips looked very much like Sarah. At this point, she could be sure of it even without the DNA test….
“Sammy, later today the doctor will be here to check us out. He’ll have to take some blood samples. Will you be afraid?” asked Sherry.
He shook his head. “No! Mommy, I’ll be brave. Please don’t hate me.”
Sherry felt like crying, “Why on earth would I hate you?”
Sammy smiled brightly, as if relieved. “I thought you hated me! Luckily you don’t! Mommy, let’s go get the doctor!”
To prove his own bravery, he dragged Sherry by the hand toward the door as he said that. At that moment, the doctor was taking Sarah’s blood sample. He used a sharp tool to prick her finger. Sarah turned her head to the side to avoid looking at him. Frowning, she struggled not to cry out in pain.
“Don’t be afraid, Aunt Sarah! It doesn’t hurt.”
Sammy moved to her side.
“I’ll blow the pain out of you!” With that said, he leaned over and blew on Sarah’s hand.
Sarah was thrilled. She couldn’t help but hug him.
“Thank you, Sammy…”
William snuck up and hugged Sherry from behind. They gave each other a tacit glance and said nothing.
Suddenly, the doctor said, “I’ll have to take Sammy’s blood sample, too.”
“Are you afraid, Sammy?” asked Sherry and stepped closer.
“No!” Sammy held out his little hand.
His face twisted as the doctor was sanitizing his finger. He frowned and turned his head to the side. Everyone was taken aback by his expression. It was the same as Sarah’s a while ago. And the truth turned out to be what everyone expected.
The test result came out the next day.
It was confirmed that Sammy was Liam and Sarah’s son. Although they were already expecting this result, this confirmation helped them put all doubts aside at that moment.
William was finally able to move on and devote himself to finding his own son. They did not tell Sammy.
They decided not to tell John as well, because William feared he would not be able to handle it.
Liam and Sarah could understand, naturally. Sarah was already satisfied.
Although she really wanted to take the child with her, she was frightened to see the child’s expression! She couldn’t be selfish.
As she glanced at Sherry, she could understand how she felt. How could she bear it now that she confirmed that her son was missing?
William called Lucille. After a whole day of pondering, he doubted Lucille knew who this comrade of Darcy’s was. It was written in that diary! And it seemed to be Lucille’s act that the few pages were torn out.
He could not understand the motive behind her action. He was too shocked to contemplate the details. In retrospect, it was obvious that she lied. It was Reggie who picked up the call.
His voice was extremely low, “William, Lucille is missing!”
“What did you say?” he was startled.
“It’s true!” Reggie’s voice was null. “Come with Sherry. We’ll talk about it when we meet. She left something for you.”
William then took Sherry to meet Reggie at the Seah Restaurant.
After greeting each other, Reggie sat down.
“Why would Lucille disappear?” William couldn’t believe it. “I have things to ask her. Where did she go?”
“I don’t know!” Reggie shook his head and pulled out a letter. “This is her letter! It’s for you.”
Puzzled, William and Sherry opened the letter, read the line that contained .
