Chapter 205:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“How can you be so sure?” of course William expected it, but… Was it really a possibility?
“Go back and check, as for Peter, I’ll help you to find him!” After saying this Alexis hung up.
“What did he say?” Sherry asked nervously.
“Sherry, is there a possibility that Dan is our son?” He said carefully, looking her straight in the eyes, if Alexis hadn’t said it she would never have expected this. But as soon as Alexis reminded her it was as if she had been dealt a very unexpected blow.
“Dan? Oh my!” Sherry gasped, “Really? Other people say he looks like me, and to be honest, he really does look like me, however, could this really be possible?”

How she had hoped that Dan was really her biological son!
“We need to go check the DNA immediately.” William pressed hard on the car pedal and started off as fast as an arrow.
As soon as they arrived home, John had also just returned from playing ball with Dan and, as soon as William saw them, he said excitedly, “Have you seen how much my father likes Dan, maybe more than Sammy? And this boy is so smart too; I really hope he’s my son!”
William helped her unbuckle her seatbelt, “Don’t tell my dad!”.
Although he was also worried about what he would do if it wasn’t his son.
As soon as Sherry got out of the car she yelled, “Dan?”
“Mom!” As soon as he turned his head toward and saw Sherry he flashed a big smile, Her red lips and white teeth were an exact resemblance to Sherry’s! William felt himself blush slightly at the sight of them.
“Dan!” Sherry hugged him tightly, praying from the bottom of her heart that Dan was really her son.
“Did you two go out?” asked John.
“Father, we want to take Dan out for a while, we’ll be back soon,” said William, as he didn’t want his father to know that he wanted to take Dan for a DNA test.
“Where are you going?” John was waiting to play chess with Dan.
“To see my wife’s father, we’ll be back soon!” William had already picked Dan up, “Son, we’re going out for a while!”
“I’m not your son!” Dan shrugged, “Sammy is your son!”
At this William felt a little put off, Sammy wasn’t! However he said nothing, “Come on, Sherry!”
At the hospital.
William said to Dan, “Hey, are we going to do a test?”
“What test?” Dan frowned.
Sherry said, “Dan, we’re just going to do a test to check your blood type, It only takes a few drops of blood!”.
“Do I really have to?” asked Dan.
“Are you afraid it will hurt?” Sherry had always taught him to be brave.
“I’m not afraid! But I feel that both Will and you have something strange about you.” Dan was very sensitive to changes in a person, so he noticed that they both looked a little animated. “I get the feeling you want the blood to confirm who my parents are!”
William and Sherry felt uncomfortable, this child was too smart.
At that moment, William’s regular doctor approached them, “Mr. Rowland, the soonest the results can be in is half a day from now, because the testing center is pretty busy right now.”
“Can’t they get the results a little faster?” William was very anxious to know.
“This is already the fastest time!”
“Okay, then, let’s get the blood test done!” William held out his hand to Dan.
“A blood test for what?” asked Dan somewhat surprised, “Mom?”
Sherry was taken aback, “Dan, Mom never lies and what I’m going to tell you now is that it’s something important to Mom and William, don’t ask why you have to get this test done, okay?”
I didn’t want to get the boy’s hopes up and then get hurt, nor did I want to lie to him.
“Okay, Mommy! Then I won’t ask anymore.” Dan nodded and took William’s hand. “Doctor, you can stick the needle in my hand, I’m not afraid!”.
“What a good boy!” The doctor stroked Dan’s head and then looked at the two of them again, he sighed as he said, “I have a feeling that even without the test, things are clear really…”
…
Sherry and William were clinging to this hope, for if it was really true, this would be a pleasure.
There was no way to put into words what they felt. The doctor took blood samples from all three of them, and as Sherry looked at her son’s hand, her heart fluttered, “Dan, are you in pain?”
Dan shook his head, “Mom, does anything hurt? I can blow for you…”
Sherry was shaking inside, the pain getting worse. However, as she took a look at her son’s face, which really looked like her own, inside she felt a whole mix of emotions.
Dan grabbed Sherry’s hand and blew on the wound several times, “Mommy, are you still in pain?”
Sherry immediately burst into tears, “Dan, it’s all better now!”.
“Mommy, why are you crying?”. Dan helped her wipe her tears away feeling a little puzzled, “Mommy, don’t cry! I’m going to be very good to you, so don’t cry, Mommy shouldn’t cry, should she? Are you crying because it still hurts?”.
William was very touched because he had never seen such a loving child, tears formed in his eyes as he bent down and stretched his arms around Sherry and Dan.
Dan lifted his head to look at William, their beautiful eyes were so alike, and Dan blinked feeling unsure, “Will, did it hurt you too, should I blow a little on your wound too?”
Hearing this William tensed, everyone says blood is thicker than water. But this child was so loving, so regardless of whether this child was his biological child or not, Sherry and he would continue to treat him as if he was their own. This, of course, included Sammy; they would both love Dan and Sammy very much.
“Dan, your mother and I are fine; we are both gratified that you are so loving and kind.”
William hugged them both and held them close to his chest.
“All right, let’s go home now; the doctor will call us when the results come back.”
“Okay!” Sherry nodded.
They could wait, but Dan was still a boy, so if they waited here half a day it would already be dark outside and Dan would be hungry.
“Let’s go home!” William released them.
Suddenly, Sherry picked up the boy, “Dan, is it okay if I carry you?”
Dan was a little puzzled as to why he was being lifted, although he liked being held by his mom, he was now too heavy. He wondered how he suddenly had so much strength, “Mom, you must be struggling to be this strong! How about we hold hands and go together? Put me down.”
Sherry held him stubbornly, “Mommy wants to take Dan.” As she said this she carried Dan outside, how could William not understand how she felt now?
Sherry wanted to suck some of the energy out of Dan’s body, regardless of whether this boy was his or not, he had been the force that had allowed Sherry to survive all these years….
Dan seemed to sense that Sherry was a little different today, so he obediently put his arms around her neck.
“Mom, I’m going to play golf with John today, because he wants to teach me how to play – maybe next time I can teach you?”.
“Okay, sounds good to me!” Sherry nodded her head, tears still held back.
William was at her side, guarding them as he walked them to the car.
As soon as she was in the car, Sherry thought about how William turned out to be allergic to cilantro, and then how Dan was also allergic to cilantro.
“Could it be possible?”
Was it really a possibility? She hugged the boy with some apprehension, and was entranced for the entire ride home. They all sat down together to eat, Sherry had especially asked Mrs. Howe to make shredded lamb with coriander. When the plates were placed on the table and the strong smell of coriander wafted across the table, all three men at the table frowned.
John pounded the table and shouted, “What is this, didn’t I say no more cilantro can be served? Take it away immediately.”
Mrs. Howe was taken aback and gave Sherry a look.
Sherry looked at Dan and frowned, “That’s right, Mrs. Howe, Cilantro is not that good and if I eat it I’ll get a rash! It will be very itchy, so I can’t eat this, please take it away!”.
William frowned as well, although he didn’t force her to take the dish away, he felt the same way. After hearing Dan’s words, Sherry and William’s eyes met. They were both very agitated as they had been waiting for the results for a long time.
But she was sitting, full of hope, as if the child was hers. Then John suddenly said, “Wait, Dan, what did you say?”
“Grandpa, you don’t like cilantro either? I don’t either.”
“I like it!” interjected Sammy.
John laughed as he shook his head, “I’m really wondering if you could really be part of this family! It’s a little strange that you have the same allergy as me and William.” As soon as he said this, he suddenly sensed something was wrong and explained to Sherry, “Sherry, don’t get me wrong, William is not the kind of man who is disloyal, but if it turns out that he has, I’ll take your side and sort it out for you!”
“John!” Sherry’s expression was pleasantly surprised, and although some things couldn’t be said in front of the boy, John’s words gave her some courage to ask, “Do you also feel that Dan looks like William?”
“Yes! He also looks a lot like Will’s mother, especially in the eyes.” John was very fond of this boy and always used his eyes to reminisce about his late wife, thinking of all those wonderful years spent together.
“Take him away, Mrs. Howe!” said William, feeling very uncomfortable.
Mrs. Howe removed the coriander and with that the smell also disappeared.
John, Dan and William seemed to be relieved.
“Great, now I don’t have to eat the cilantro!” Dan put his head down and began to eat his food.
“But I would have liked to eat it!” Sammy was a little disappointed.
“Then go to the kitchen and eat it!” said Dan. “Then once you’ve finished it come back!”
As Sherry watched what was happening, the feeling in her heart grew more and more. Dan was her son; he had to be, for sure!
When they finished eating. Time was slowly passing, and now it was already 10 o’clock at night and the children had gone to sleep. The night sky was pitch black, and Sherry’s back was starting to ache, finally she couldn’t help but rub her waist.
She sighed and frowned a little, the wait time for the result was very long, but they still had another two hours to wait until midnight. She had never realized that time was passing so slowly.
William had come in, which made her raise her head and anxiously ask, “Is there any news?”
“We still have to wait two more hours!” he was waiting too, “Sherry, you’re looking very distressed, don’t be like that.”
“But I’m really very distressed; my heart is pounding because I’m so afraid if he’s not here.” She clutched her hands tightly because she had never been so anxious in her life.
William hugged her, “Whether he’s our biological son or not, he’ll still be our son. If he really is our son then great, but in case he isn’t then we can’t be so disappointed and we’ll go check again.”
“Agreed.” She nodded her head.
Sherry’s expression returned to normal, but there was still a look of sadness in her eyes. He glanced at Sherry and felt a pain in his chest as if he had been stabbed. If the child was not his, how could he send him away, how could he be so cruel, to take the child and separate him from his mother, that would be too cruel?
William blamed himself for a while and then whispered in Sherry’s ear, “I’m so sorry, it’s all my fault!”.
His apology made her want to cry, but she turned around and hugged his waist.
“It’s okay, don’t blame yourself. You didn’t love me at the time, so you wouldn’t think of the problem from my perspective. Neither of us expected this; it was all fate’s doing.”
