Chapter 211:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Miss, just call him Mr. Rowland; you don’t need to know his name!”. Daniel blinked his eyes bright and looked at William, who had just hung up on his call. Daniel pouted and said, “This lady wants to know your name, I told her to call you Mr. Rowland!”.
William overheard his son a few moments ago how a stranger thought Dan was his son. This left him quite surprised and shocked.
Earlier, William had already realized that this woman was flirting with him, so he intended to make a call to get rid of her. But he found it unexpected that she followed him here.
William gently took Daniel’s hand, looked at the woman and said, “Son, you need to check your eyesight. She was an older lady, how could you call her a lady?”. With that said, William led his son into the VIP room.
The waitress was shocked; old lady? Did she look old? Did she have to have treatments again? Were her wrinkles showing?

“I’ll tell Mom!” Daniel gave William a disapproving look.
“You’ll tell her what?” asked William.
“That you’re too sneaky!” Daniel raised his little face, “You attract too many women, like those bad guys on TV!”.
“What!!! When have I ever been hitting on a woman?” said William as he laughed.
“Maybe not this time, but how about next time! You better not, OR I’ll make sure you never see mom again!” Daniel took this opportunity to threaten William, but his little hand never left William’s grip. It seemed that he was genuinely concerned about William’s behavior.
“Son, are you trying to help your mommy keep her place?” William realized that Daniel had followed him because he knew the waitress was flirting with him. By God, his son must be a genius, right?
“Sure! Mommy didn’t realize it, but as her son, I have to help Mommy get rid of the bad stuff. I don’t want Mommy to feel sad!”
“Do you think this kind of woman would be a challenge for your mommy?” joked William as he squatted down to give his son the eyes.
He was glad that his son was protective of his mother like this, but he was also worried if he was overprotecting her. Daniel pouted, “I won’t even let any woman near you!”.
“Ah hahaha…” William laughed.
His son’s uncompromising tone made him laugh.
“What’s so funny?” Daniel asked as he raised his eyebrows.
William pulled Daniel up and continued to tease him, “You little rascal, I’m not a male fly.”
“But there are female flies! Too many!” Daniel continued to pout, “If you don’t want to be a male fly, then you’d better ignore them!”
“You devil!” William touched Daniel’s nose, “Come on, daddy promise to love only your mommy! Come on, call me daddy!”
“No way!” Daniel said, “I’m leaving!”
“Stubborn boy,” looking at Daniel’s back, the corner of William’s lips lifted, then he got up and headed for the VIP room.
“Where did you two go?” Liam said as he saw the two enter.
“Nowhere!” The duo replied at the same time.
Daniel looked at William, then sat down next to Sherry and whispered in her ear, “Mom, you’d better keep an eye on Mr. Rowland, or someone’s going to steal him away!”
“What!” Sherry was stunned and glanced at William.
“What are you two whispering about?” asked William and laughed.
Sherry started to blush and quickly shook her head, “Nothing, it’s nothing!”.
“We’re talking about female flies! There was one near you just now, so I’m telling mom to remember to always carry a fly swatter, so I can swat them at any time!” said Daniel calmly and sat up in his seat.
“What female fly, how can you tell if a fly is male or female just by looking at it?” asked Sarah confused.
“Bro, what does a female fly look like?” asked Sammy also curious.
“Sure! Are there flies in winter? Maybe there are certain species of flies that are available even during winter! Where are they?” Liam also interjected.
“Ha!” William restrained himself from bursting out laughing, “He’s talking about a flirty waitress!”
“My God!” cried Liam, “My nephew is so funny; he must have inherited a sense of humor from me. Come here, boy, come home to Uncle tonight, okay?”
“Inherited from you? Stop kidding yourself.” William nudged Liam lightly.
“Doesn’t inheriting come from mom and dad?” asked Daniel.
Everyone was surprised; William continued, “Yes, it’s from Dad and Mom; you’re Dad’s son, So of course you’ve inherited from me!”.
“No, I’m not, Sammy is!” disapproved Daniel.
“You both are!” hinted William.
A waiter brought the drinks and Sammy rushed to serve them, “Let me pour the juice!”.
“Wait, Sammy, let me!” Sarah was afraid Sammy would spill the juice on her clothes.
“He can handle it; he even serves us tea at home. Sammy is a good boy who loves to work.” Sherry praised him proudly.
“Let me pour you a glass!”
“Very good!” Sherry’s eyes began to turn red.
This was her son; she hadn’t raised him a day, yet she already knew how to pour him juice.
“Be careful, dear!” Finally, Sammy poured a glass for everyone; Liam and Sarah’s eyes were red.
Then William said, “Sammy, after lunch, go over to Liam and Sarah’s house, OK?”
“Is Daniel going too?” asked Sammy in a measured way.
“I don’t want to go, I still have things to do! You go, Sammy!” declined Daniel.
William froze in his seat, “You don’t dare go by yourself?”
Sarah was slightly worried, “Will, he might get a little scared; there’s no hurry!”
“I’m not scared! I’ll go with Miss Sarah! How come Daniel calls Mr. Liam uncle and I have to call him Mr. Liam? Why can’t I call him uncle?”. asked Sammy to William.
“Whew, you can call him uncle too! Dad forgot to say it.” Just thinking about his mistake made William break out in a cold sweat.
“Dad, I’m not coming home tonight; can I sleep with uncle?”. Sammy gave Liam an admiring look.
“Sammy likes Uncle Liam?” asked William again.
“Mhmm, I like him!”
“Sammy likes me?” Sarah voiced.
Sammy nodded again.
“So do I! Miss Sarah smells like mommy too! I like Miss Sarah!” hearing this, Sarah instantly burst into tears. “What’s the matter, Miss Sarah?” Sammy saw Sarah start to cry and reached her little hands up to try to wipe her tears away, “Don’t cry, Miss Sarah!”
Sherry was moved by the scene before her. It might not be long before Sammy would start calling Liam and Sarah as mommy and daddy.
…
“I told you not to act rashly, Peter. William is not the fool you think he is. He’s already seen through all this. You’re only undoing yourself by doing this.”
Alexis let Lara go, and William gave her a blank check. They would have no relationship. She knew she was no match for William, so she was planning to leave for France, when suddenly she got the call from Peter.
“Was he the one who locked you up these last few days?” Peter was not surprised, “Now you’re afraid?”
“Give it up, Peter!” Lara said, “You are no match for him. I won’t get involved in your plans anymore. Give it up now. I know you can’t win.”
She hung up and pulled out the SIM card, then tossed it into a nearby trash can at the airport. He glanced back at the vegetation behind him, then dragged his luggage into the main lobby.
It’s all over, goodbye! He had given up completely. Peter hung up his phone; he looked calm. Of course, he knew William had some nerves, but he underestimated him.
Afternoon.
William returned to the company after lunch. Liam accompanied him. Regarding the overseas investment project, Peter made his final presentation. Everyone present listened attentively.
William sat quietly at the head of the table, hands on the armrests, as he listened.
The whole plan was impeccable, but the better it sounded, the more cautious one had to be. William did not show any thoughts he had, but remained quiet.
Once he was done with his presentation, Peter gave a glance at William, who was still expressionless on his face.
His calm demeanor made people respect and fear him at the same time.
“Check!” After a long moment, William spoke up, “Set up Finance this afternoon. Peter can go talk to Finance.”
Liam said nothing as he stared at Peter. Peter seemed to catch Liam’s gaze, but only looked back at him silently.
“I’ll take care of it right now!” said Peter and walked out of the meeting room. William and Liam were left alone in the room.
“He doesn’t seem sorry at all! Damn, what a ruthless man. If this project fails, he’ll ruin the company! When can we punish him, I can’t stand it!”
William laughed as he shook his head, “We’ll talk in my office!”
“Agreed!”
The two headed for the president’s office. The strange thing was that Peter did nothing. Once the project was approved, the transfer of funds went smoothly.
William was a bit puzzled; he really didn’t know what Peter had planned.
On the third day of John’s departure.
Peter walked into William’s office.
“Peter, what’s wrong?” William remained calm.
Peter sat down across from him and handed him a document. “Here is a list of joint projects between the Houston Group and the Rowland Group. One of the projects has a problem; about a hundred million has disappeared without a trace. I have checked the bank accounts, but the money is not there. It’s not in the accounts, but the receipt has your signature on it.”
“What are you trying to say?” asked William calmly.
“Commercial bribery!” pronounced Peter. “At about the time you signed this, the mayor’s sister-in-law suddenly had 50 million more in her Swiss bank account…. And a new villa, which was bought in your name.”
“Speak up, Peter; what do you want?” William said.
“Do you want to know the whereabouts of your biological son?” asked Peter in a low voice.
William blinked. He didn’t know that William had already discovered that Daniel is his biological son. He looked at Peter as if he were looking at a clown.
“Are you sure you’re my older brother?”
Peter was surprised; he hadn’t expected William to ask him this, “Do you know who I am?”
“Peter, my family members are pretty smart. If you stop now, I’ll pretend nothing happened and we can be brothers. If you don’t, even I can’t guarantee what will happen next.” William gave him a gentle reminder .
