Chapter 2115 :
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
As Lexi was lost in her thoughts, a loud shout suddenly rang out from the crowd by the roadside.
Lexi’s heart skipped a beat. Could this be the mysterious man beginning his scheme?
Realizing something was amiss and that Janet might be in danger, Lexi instinctively moved closer to Janet and grabbed her wrist tightly.
“Lexi…” Janet’s voice was confused and barely audible over the roar of the engine.
Lexi and Janet both looked up just in time to see a car roaring to life nearby. The engine’s noise was deafening, like thunder. The tires screeched against the pavement as if the car was trying to lift itself off the ground. Thick smoke billowed from the vehicle, enveloping it in an ominous haze.
Without warning, the car swerved, completing half a turn to face them directly.
In the blink of an eye, the car sped toward them.
“Run!” Lexi yelled, her voice hoarse as she grabbed Janet’s hand and pulled her back.
“What’s happening? Are they going to hit us?” Janet asked in panic.
Nearby, a staff member’s eyes went wide with shock. “Don’t worry. With all these people around, they won’t hit us,” another staff member responded, trying to stay positive. Brandon, however, was already moving quickly. He rushed to Janet, scooped her up, and sprinted toward the event hall.
The car sped by so quickly that at first, bystanders thought it was just a reckless driver showing off. But as the car veered toward them with intent, they realized it was more than just a display of speed—it was an attempt to cause harm.
“Help!”

“Call the police! Now!”
The people by the roadside quickly grew frantic. They screamed desperately for help and scrambled for cover.
Lexi had barely taken a few steps when she was harshly bumped into.
“Ah!” Lexi cried out as she stumbled forward uncontrollably, cursing her misfortune.
Was she about to be killed here today?
She hoped the car wouldn’t crush her hands. She cherished designing and longed to create sketches well into her old age. However, it seemed that the driver was determined to end her life.
From the look of things, the man seemed relentless in his pursuit to hit her. Her hopes were fading fast.
“Farewell, Janet. Farewell, my beloved career in design.” Tears quietly rolled down Lexi’s cheeks as she braced for the worst.
Out of nowhere, a strong force grabbed her.
“Hold on!”
The voice yelled in her ear as she was pulled out of the way.
Lexi looked stunned as she was quickly pulled to safety. It was only after being led up some steps and away from the immediate threat that she turned to thank her rescuer.
“Thank you. If it weren’t for you…” Lexi’s words faltered when she saw the face of the person who had saved her. “How could it be you?”
Her rescuer wasn’t a stranger—it was Sonia, someone Lexi had never liked.
Sonia seemed oblivious to Lexi’s confusion. She released Lexi’s hand, her expression grim. “You’re safe now.”
As Lexi stood there, bewildered, she remembered that Sonia was supposed to be Janet’s bodyguard.
“You’re supposed to be protecting Janet. Why did you come to save me?” Lexi’s heart skipped a beat. “Where is she? Is she alright?”
Without waiting for an answer, Lexi instinctively rushed back down the stairs, fearing for Janet’s safety. Sonia, silent, stopped her again and pointed toward Brandon and Janet, who were standing close by.
“She’s safe with Mr. Larson,” Sonia said calmly. “However, if I hadn’t pulled you back, you would have been seriously injured by that car.”
